Fetuin bovine is a protein with the ability to bind to the insulin receptor and inhibit insulin action. Fetuin has been used in studies of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). In patients with T2DM, fetuin has been shown to be significantly lower when compared to control patients. Fetuin has also been used in studies to demonstrate its protective role in the development of arterial calcification. Fetuin also contributes to the attachment and spreading of cells in culture medium.
