Deoxycholic Acid Sodium Salt Monohydrate is an anionic biological detergent for the solubilization of membrane-bound proteins.
- Aggregation Number: 4-10 (Lit.)
- Critical Micelle Concentration (CMC): 5mM
Anionic detergent; useful for extraction of membrane receptors and other plasma membrane proteins and for nuclei isolation. Deoxycholic acid has been used in a modified procedure to recover 40-80% of a protein from a 1 µg/ml solution.
It solubilizes fats for absorption in the intestines.
Deoxycholic Acid, Sodium Salt is reported to induce tyrosine phosphorylation of b-catenin and its subsequent translocation to the nucleus, promoting activation of β-catenin signaling (effective concentration 5-50 µM). It solubilizes fats for absorption in the intestines.
Soluble in 2% autoclaved solution (clear), and aqueous solutions (50 mg/mL-colorless to light yellow solution).
Precaución: Research Use Only (RUO).
