Description:   Glycerol kinase catalyzes the formation of glycerol 3 phosphate from ATP and glycerol. Dihydroxyacetone and L glyceraldehyde can also act as acceptors; UTP and, in the case of the yeast enzyme, ITP and GTP can act as donors. It provides a way for glycerol derived from fats or glycerides to enter the glycolytic pathway.

Supplier:  Rockland Immunochemical
Description:   Secondary Goat Anti-IgG (H&L) Reacts with Hamster
Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   DNA repair enzyme that can remove a variety of covalent adducts from DNA through hydrolysis of a 5'-phosphodiester bond, giving rise to DNA with a free 5' phosphate. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of dead-end complexes between DNA and the topoisomerase 2 (TOP2) active site tyrosine residue. Hydrolyzes 5'-phosphoglycolates on protruding 5' ends on DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) due to DNA damage by radiation and free radicals. The 5'-tyrosyl DNA phosphodiesterase activity can enable the repair of TOP2-induced DSBs without the need for nuclease activity, creating a 'clean' DSB with 5'-phosphate termini that are ready for ligation. Has also 3'-tyrosyl DNA phosphodiesterase activity, but less efficiently and much slower than TDP1. May also act as a negative regulator of ETS1 and may inhibit nuclear factor-kappa-B activation.

Description:   UGP2 is an important intermediary in mammalian carbohydrate interconversions. It transfers a glucose moiety from glucose-1-phosphate to MgUTP and forms UDP-glucose and MgPPi. In liver and muscle tissue, UDP-glucose is a direct precursor of glycogen; in lactating mammary gland it is converted to UDP-galactose which is then converted to lactose. The eukaryotic enzyme has no significant sequence similarity to the prokaryotic enzyme. The enzyme encoded by this gene is an important intermediary in mammalian carbohydrate interconversions. Description:   GOT1L1, Glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase 1-like protein 1, is a 421 amino acid member of the class-I pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family. Similar to glutamate-oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT1), GOT1L1 is found primarily as a homodimer in the cytoplasmic space but also has mitochondrial and chloroplastic isozymes. GOT1L1 transaminates 2-oxoglutarate with L-aspartate to yield oxaloacetate and L-glutamate. This reaction requires a pyridoxal phosphate cofactor to occur. The GOT1L1 peptidase is predominately expressed in the liver and serum levels of this protein can be used as an indicator of liver disease. Also, elevated glutamate concentrations in the brain interstitial fluids can lead to pathological brain conditions. The glutamate-scavenging properties of these aminotranferase type enzymes likely prevent glutamate excitotoxicity and the long-lasting neurological deficits seen after stroke.

Description:   The inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatases selectively remove the phosphate from the 5-position of various phosphatidylinositols, which generate second messengers in response to extracellular signals. Synaptojanins are characterized by an N-terminal SAC1-like sequence, a central 5-phosphate domain, and a unique C-terminal sequence and have been shown to use phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate as a substrate. Synaptojanins exist as two isoforms, synaptojanin 1 and 2, which differ in the C-terminal domain, and each isoform has multiple variants produced by alternative splicing. Synaptojanin 1 is expressed as two major forms: the shorter is found in brain while the longer is expressed in peripheral tissues. Eight splice variants of synaptojanin 2 have been detected, including a brain specific isoform. Synaptojanins are thought to participate in the endocytosis of synaptic vesicles and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton.

Description:   NCF4 is a cytosolic oxidase associated protein. It is a component of the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase, which mediates down regulation of NADPH oxidase through interactions with its SH3 domain. NCF4 is associated with p67 phox but is absent in patients with chronic granulomatous disease who lack p67 phox.

Description:   Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor whose role is not yet clear. ATP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine = ADP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine phosphate.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   FGF-23 (Fibroblast growth factor 23) is a regulator of phosphate homeostasis. It upregulates EGR1 expression in the presence of KLBy. Acts directly on the parathyroid to decrease PTH secretion. Regulates the vitamin-D metabolism. Negatively regulates osteoblast differentiation and matrix mineralization. Defects in FGF-23 are the cause of autosomal dominant hypophosphataemic rickets (ADHR) and of hyperphosphatemic familial tumoral calcinosis (HFTC).
