Description:
Acridine orange (AO) stains dsDNA green (525 nm) and RNA or single stranded DNA red (650 nm). The dye is membrane-permeant and its nucleic acid binding property has been used for cell-cycle studies. Acridine orange has also been used for the detection of microorganisms in cerebrospinal fluid and other clinical specimens. We offer a highly purified form of acridine orange while most of the other commercially available grades of AO are either in zinc chloride complex form or of low purity.

Description:
Product Introduction:(R)-(-)-α-Phellandrene is a monoterpene derivative.Product Application:(R)-(-)-α-Phellandrene undergoes [4+2] cycloaddition with 2-naphthyl acetylenecarboxylate to form a chiral diene, which can act as a ligand for the rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric addition reactions. It may be used to synthesize (1S,5R)-5-(1-methylethyl)-2-methylidene-3-cyclohexen-1-yl hydroperoxide, which on reduction forms trans-yabunikkeol.

Description:
p53, a DNA-binding, oligomerization domain- and transcription activation domain-containing tumor suppressor, upregulates growth arrest and apoptosis-related genes in response to stress signals, thereby influencing programmed cell death, cell differentiation, and cell cycle control mechanisms. p53 localizes to the nucleus, yet can be chaperoned to the cytoplasm by the negative regulator, MDM2. MDM2 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that is upregulated in the presence of active p53, where it poly-ubiquitinates p53 for proteasome targeting. p53 fluctuates between latent and active DNA-binding conformations and is differentially activated through posttranslational modifications, including phosphorylation and acetylation. Mutations in the DNA-binding domain (DBD) of p53, amino acids 110-286, can compromise energetically-favorable association with cis elements and are implicated in several human cancers.

Description:
CREB5 belongs to the CRE (cAMP response element)-binding protein family. Members of this family contain zinc-finger and bZIP DNA-binding domains. This protein specifically binds to CRE as a homodimer or a heterodimer with c-Jun or CRE-BP1, and functions as a CRE-dependent trans-activator. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.

Description:
The tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins are characterized by a conserved TRIM domain that includes a coiled-coil region, a B-box type zinc finger, one RING finger and three zinc-binding domains. Staf-50 (50 kDa-stimulated trans-acting factor), also known as TRIM22 (tripartite motif-containing 22), RNF94 or GPSTAF50, is a 498 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that belongs to the TRIM family and, characteristic of TRIM family members, contains one RING-type zinc finger, one B box-type zinc finger and one SPRY domain. Induced by IFN-å and IFN-∫, Staf-50 is strongly expressed in ovary, spleen, thymus and peripheral blood leukocytes where it is thought to mediate the antiviral effects of IFN proteins. Additionally, Staf-50 is present in leukemic cells, suggesting a role in cancer formation and metastasis. Staf-50 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms which are encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 11.

Description:
Members of the protein kinase C (PKC) family function in many extracellular receptor-mediated signal transduction pathways. See PRKCA (MIM 176960) for further background information. The PRKCM gene encodes a cytosolic serine-threonine kinase that binds to the trans-Golgi network and regulates the fission of transport carriers specifically destined to the cell surface.[supplied by OMIM]

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme that synthesizes the prenyl side-chain of coenzyme Q, or ubiquinone, one of the key elements in the respiratory chain. The gene product catalyzes the formation of all trans-polyprenyl pyrophosphates from isopentyl diphosphate in the assembly of polyisoprenoid side chains, the first step in coenzyme Q biosynthesis. Defects in this gene are a cause of coenzyme Q10 deficiency.

Description:
DD3 is a unique enzyme that can specifically catalyze the dehydrogenation of trans-benzenedihydrodiol and trans-naphthalenedihydrodiol.Human liver contains isoforms of dihydrodiol dehydrogenase (DD1, DD2, DD3 and DD4), which belong to the aldo-oxo reductase/aldo-keto reductase (AKR) superfamily, have 20Alpha- or 3Alpha-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (HSD) activity. DD1 is also designated AKR1C1, DDH or DDH1 while DD2 also can be designated AKR1C2, dDD, BABP or DDH2. AKR1C3 and 3Alpha-HSD are alternate designations for DD3, while DD4 also can be called AKR1C4, CD or CHDR. DD1 and DD2 are 20Alpha-HSDs, whereas DD3 and DD4 are the 3Alpha-HSDs. The multiple human cytosolic dihydrodiol dehydrogenases are involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics, such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, pesticides and steroid hormones, and are responsible for the reduction of ketone-containing drugs by using NADH or NADPH as a cofactor. The 20Alpha-HSD catalyzes the reaction of progesterone to the inactive form 20Alpha-hydroxyprogesterone. The 3Alpha-HSD is a cytosolic, monomeric, NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase that reduces 3-keto-5-dihydrosteroids to their tetrahydro products. DD1 and DD2 are ubiquitously expressed, whereas DD4 mRNA is restricted to the liver.
