Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Receptor for retinoic acid. Retinoic acid receptors bind as heterodimers to their target response elements in response to their ligands, all-trans or 9-cis retinoic acid, and regulate gene expression in various biological processes. The RXR/RAR heterodimers bind to the retinoic acid response elements (RARE) composed of tandem 5'-AGGTCA-3' sites known as DR1-DR5. In the absence or presence of hormone ligand, acts mainly as an activator of gene expression due to weak binding to corepressors. In concert with RARG, required for skeletal growth, matrix homeostasis and growth plate function.

Description:   FKBP1A is a member of the immunophilin protein family which plays a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. FKBP1A is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds the immunosuppressants FK506 and Rapamycin. FKBP1A interacts with various type I receptors, including the TGF-beta type I receptor and competitive binding assays show that the type I receptor may be a natural ligand for FKBP1A (1). FKBP1A-deficient mice have normal skeletal muscle but show severe dilated cardiomyopathy and ventricular septal defects that mimick a human congenital heart disorder (2). FKBP1A Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Cellular Proteins, AKT/PKB Pathway, Cardiovascular Disease, Inflammation, Neurobiology, and NfkB Pathway research.

Description:   HSP56 is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase belonging to the immunophilin protein family. The human HSP 56 gene (FKBP4) has multiple polyadenylation sites and the HSP 56 protein can undergo phosphorylation. HSP 56 influences immunoregulatory gene expression in lymphocytes, protein folding and trafficking. It can serve as a co-chaperone for steroid hormone nuclear receptors to govern appropriate hormone action in target tissues. The protein can associate with phytanoyl-CoA alpha-hydroxylase (PHYH) and with HSP90 through a series of tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) domains. HSP 56 is a TRPC ion channel accessory protein that modulates channel activation following receptor stimulation.

Description:   This mAb recognizes a protein of 134kDa, which binds fibroblast growth factor and E-selectin (cell-adhesion lectin on endothelial cells mediating the binding of neutrophils). Fucosylation is essential for binding to E-selectin. It contains sialic acid residues and 16 Cys-rich GLG1 repeats. This mAb can be used to stain the Golgi complex in cell or tissue preparations and can be used as a Golgi marker in subcellular fractions. It produces a diffuse staining pattern of the Golgi zone in normal and malignant cells. This mAb is an excellent marker for human cells in xenographic model research. It reacts specifically with human cells. The Golgi apparatus is an organelle present in all eukaryotic cells that forms a part of the endomembrane system. The primary function of the Golgi apparatus is to process and package macromolecules synthesized by the cell for exocytosis or use within the cell. The Golgi is made up of a stack of flattened, membrane-bound sacs known as cisternae, with three functional regions: the cis face, medial region and trans face. Each region consists of various enzymes that selectively modify the macromolecules passing though them, depending on where they are destined to reside. Several spherical vesicles that have budded off of the Golgi are present surrounding the main cisternae. The Golgi tends to be more pronounced and numerous in cells that make and secrete many substances such as plasma B cells.

Description:   Immunophilins are a family of soluble cytosolic receptors capable of binding to one of two major immunosuppressant agents - cyclosporin A (CsA) or FK506. Proteins that bind FK506 are termed FK506 Binding Proteins (FKBPs) and those that bind cyclosporin A are called cyclophilins (CyP).
Both CyP:CsA and FKBP:FK506 complexes have been shown to inhibit calcineurin, a calcium and calmodulin dependent protein phosphatase which has been implicated as an important signalling enzyme in T-cell activation, providing a possible mechanism of immunosuppression by CsA and FK506. Immunophilins function as peptidyl prolyl cis-trans-isomerases (PPIase) whose activity is inhibited by their respective immunosuppressant compounds. As PPIase's, immunophilins accelerate folding of some proteins both in vivo and in vitro by catalyzing slow steps in the initial folding and rearrangement of proline containing proteins.
Within the cyclophilin family, there are several different proteins which show a high degree of homology including CyPA, CyPB and CyPC. CyPA, also termed CyP-18, is the most abundant and ubiquitous cyclophilin found in all vertebrate tissues and is present in T-cells.

D-myo-Inositol is a component of membrane phospholipids, glycosylphophatidylinositol anchors that bind glycoproteins to cell membranes, and inositol phosphate second messengers. It is a growth factor for animals as well as microorganisms. Myo-Inositol is the most abundant form of polyols that serves as a structural element of secondary messengers in eukaryotic cells. Inositol or cyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexol is a chemical compound, a sixfold alcohol (polyol) of cyclohexane. It exists in nine possible stereoisomers, of which the most prominent form, widely occurring in nature, is cis-1,2,3,5-trans-4,6-cyclohexanehexol, or myo-inositol (former name meso-inositol). Inositol is a carbohydrate, though not a classical sugar. It has a taste which has been assayed at half the sweetness of table sugar. Used as a lipotropic agent.
A component of membrane phospholipids, glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchors that bind glycoproteins to cell membranes, and inositol phosphate second messengers. In addition, inositol serves as an important component of the structural lipids phosphatidylinositol (PI) and its various phosphates, the phosphatidylinositol phosphate (PIP) lipids.
