Description:
Isopropyl alcohol is ideal for precipitating nucleic acids. In comparison to ethanol, approximately half the amount is required for precipitation which minimizes the total volume for recovery. Isopropanol is a clear, colorless, polar organic solvent commonly used in chemistry and molecular biology laboratories. It will dissolve a wide range of chemicals, and evaporates quickly.

MP Biomedicals
Description:
Pepsin, an acid protease, contains a proteolytic enzyme. Pepsin contains the 'cathepsin' component which has milk curdling activity. It has a broad range of substrate activity and demonstrates an esterase acitivity. It generally attacks peptide bonds.

MP Biomedicals
Description:
Bromelain is a glycoprotein which is a highly active thiol proteinase (non-specific cysteine protease), which splits glycine esters but not lysine esters; it is also a protein-digesting and milk-clotting enzyme. Substrates susceptible to bromelain include all of the common protein materials such as gelatin, casein, gluten, collagen, elastin, globulins and muscle fiber protein.

Description:
Ampicillin sodium salt is a semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin, active as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is inactivated by beta-lactamases and for this reason a beta-lactamase inhibitor should be considered when using ampicillin. Against gram-positive bacteria, ampicillin has a similar mode of action as benzylpenicillin; against gram-negative bacteria, it has a similar mode of action as chloramphenicol and tetracyclines. In E. coli it inhibits cell wall synthesis.

Invitrogen
Description:
DyLight™ PEGylated dyes display absorption spectra ranging from 550 nm to 783 nm. These reagents fluoresce over a broad pH range, are more intense than Alexa Fluor® or Cy® dyes in many applications and match the output wavelengths of common fluorescence instrumentation. Additionally, the water solubility of the DyLight™ reagents allows a high dye-to-protein ratio without precipitation during conjugation.
