Description:
Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH), also known as GnRH or FSH-RH, is a hypothalamic hormone that controls the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in the pituitary gland and promotes mating behavior. It stimulates the secretion of gonadotropins after its interaction with specific G-protein-coupled receptors that are present in plasma membranes of pituitary gonadotrophs. In addition to hypophysiotropic effect, it also plays a autocrine/paracrine role in peripheral organs such as prostate, breast and ovary. LHRH is not only a neurohormone but may also function as a neurotransmitter or neuromodulator. It also has a role in angiogenesis, cell proliferation, and tumor metastasis.

Description:
Fertilization-promoting peptide (FPP), a TRH analog, was previously purified and characterized from both rabbit prostate and human semen. Nanomolar concentrations of this peptide have been shown to enhance capacitation of mouse epididymal spermatozoa with a concomitant increase in fertilizing ability. It was also detected in the thyroid gland. According to a study of Nguyen et al. Pyr-Glu-Pro-NH₂ opposes the cholinergic effect of TRH in the mammalian CNS: Co-perfusion with an equivalent of TRH in the rat hippocampus resulted in a significant attenuation of TRH-induced acetylcholine release.

Description:
This Gastrin peptide is biotinylated at the N-terminus. It is similar to human Gastrin-17. However, native Gastrin-17 contains pyroglutamate at its N-terminus (Pyr), while this peptide contains Glutamate (E) at its N-terminus to allow for biotin coupling.

Description:
The fibrinopeptide B is an N-terminal modified peptide with pyroglutamylation, one of the common post-translational process. After cleaving off FPA in the conversion of soluble fibrinogen to fibrin, thrombin then releases fibrinopeptide B (FPB) from the beta-chains of the fibrin I subunits to form fibrin II polymers, which associate and cross-links to form a semi-solid network, while the fibrinopeptides remain soluble in plasma. Fibrin formation associated with active thrombosis leads to significantly higher plasma levels of FPB and thus measurement of plasma FPB levels is a more sensitive and specific serologic marker for acute thrombosis.

Description:
Like human Gastrin-1 “Little Gastrin,” rat Gastrin-1 “Little Gastrin” contains 17 amino acids, but differs from human Gastrin by 3 amino acids at the C-terminus. Secretion of Gastrin is induced by food intake and causes the release of gastric acid. Synthesized by the G cells in the gastric mucosa, it is one of the major bioactive forms of Gastrin (the other bioactive form is Gastrin-34). Both Gastrin-17 and Gastrin-34 are carboxy-amidated and partially tyrosine sulfated. Binding of Gastrin to the CCK2/gastrin receptor requires carboxy-amidation, however sulfation is not necessary for binding to the receptor.
