Description: Influenza A virus is a major public health threat, killing more than 30,000 people per year in the USA (1). Novel influenza virus strains caused by genetic drift and viral recombination emerge periodically to which humans have little or no immunity, resulting in devastating pandemics. Influenza A can exist in a variety of animals; however it is in birds that all subtypes can be found (2). These subtypes are classified based on the combination of the virus coat glycoproteins hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA) subtypes. H7N9 bird flu is the newest atypical influenza virus infection that has just been reported since early 2013. The emergence of this new strain occurred in China and has become the present focus for possible worldwide pandemic (3).

Description: In yeasts, Cdc6 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and Cdc18 (Schizosaccharomyces pombe) associate with the origin recognition complex (ORC) proteins to render cells competent for DNA replication. Cdc6 is overexpressed in human cancers, where it has a critical regulatory role in addition to DNA replication. Yan et al. (1998) showed that Cdc6 is expressed selectively in proliferating but not quiescent mammalian cells, both in culture and within tissues in intact animals. During the transition from a growth-arrested to a proliferative state, transcription of mammalian Cdc6 is regulated by E2F proteins, as revealed by a functional analysis of the human Cdc6 promoter and by the ability of exogenously expressed E2F proteins to stimulate the endogenous Cdc6 gene. They conclude that expression of human Cdc6 is regulated in response to mitogenic signals though transcriptional control mechanisms involving E2F proteins, and that Cdc6 is required for initiation of DNA replication in mammalian cells. This antibody is suitable for researchers interested in cancer research and Cell Cycle research.

Description: CCP110 is a centrosomal protein required for the centrosome to function as a microtubule organizing center and plays an essential role in centrosome duplication. It is a target of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs); disruption of CCP110 phosphorylation leads to unscheduled centrosome separation and polyploidy. CCP110 is also a target of SCF (Cyclin F) ubiquitin ligase complex, leading to its degradation, suggesting that this complex controls centrosome homeostasis and mitotic fidelity through CCP110 degradation. The centriolar kinesin Kif24 also interacts with CP110 and remodel microtubules and regulate ciliogenesis.

Description: APBA2, a member of the X11 protein family, is a phosphotyrosine-binding domain protein and is a neuronal adapter protein that interacts with amyloid precursor protein (APP) and neuritic plaques in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease. It stabilizes APP and inhibits production of proteolytic APP fragments including the Abeta peptide that is deposited in the brains of Alzheimer's disease patients. APBA2 is believed to be involved in signal transduction processes and is also regarded as a putative vesicular trafficking protein in the brain that can form a complex with the potential to couple synaptic vesicle exocytosis to neuronal cell adhesion. Recent reports suggest that it may also be a candidate gene for autism.

Description: Autophagy, the process of bulk degradation of cellular proteins through an autophagosomic-lysosomal pathway is important for normal growth control and may be defective in tumor cells. It is involved in the preservation of cellular nutrients under starvation conditions as well as the normal turnover of cytosolic components (1,2). ATG4B, also known as AUTL1, is one of four mammalian orthologs of the yeast ATG4 protein; all four are cysteine proteases (3). ATG4 is required for ATG8 conjugation to phosphatidylethanolamine on autophagosomal membranes. In mammals, each ATG4 homolog shows a selective preference for the ATG8 homologs (4). ATG4B has been found to be a novel protective protein in inflammatory colitis (5).

Description: GAB1 antibody detects human GAB1. GAB1 is a member of the IRS1-like multisubstrate docking protein family. The protein is an important mediator of branching tubulogenesis and plays a central role in cellular growth response, transformation and apoptosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. GAB1 plays a role in intracellular signaling cascades triggered by activated receptor-type kinases. It is known to play a role in FGFR1 signaling and is probably involved in signaling by the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the insulin receptor (INSR). GAB1 interacts with GRB2 and with other SH2-containing proteins. It is known to interact with phosphorylated LAT2, PTPRJ, FRS2, GRB2, PIK3R1 and SOS1. GAB1 gets phosphorylated in response to FGFR1 activation. This tyrosine phosphorylation of GAB1 mediates interaction with several proteins that contain SH2 domains. Anti-GAB1 Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Cancer, Neuroscience and Signal Transduction research.
