Ibuprofen an anti-inflammatory and analgesic.

Ibuprofen is clinically useful as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug.

Cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor that has greater activity against COX-1 than against COX-2. Also inhibits cyclooxygenase, PGH synthase-1 and PGH synthase-2. Ibuprofen is reported to inhibit the netrophil-dependent edema response of rabbit skin to C5a/PGE23.

Freely soluble in acetone; dichloromethane, ethanol; soluble in methanol (at least 50 mg/mL-clear, colorless solution) and most organic solvents; Insoluble in water.

Ibuprofen an anti-inflammatory and analgesic.
