Hexane (C6H14) is a flammable colorless liquid; it has a faint odor and is highly volatile. It is a chief constituent of petroleum, petroleum ether and gasoline. It is used as a solvent for adhesives, vegetable oils and to extract oil and grease contaminants from water and soil for analysis. Hexanes are commonly used in chromatography as a non-polar solvent. Suitable for GC and Pesticide Residue Analysis.
- For gas chromatography (GC)
- Developed especially for the application in residue analysis of pesticides and other low-volatile substances using GC
- Non-volatile matter and water content are specified for each solvent
