Product Application:5-Amino-2-methylbenzonitrile may be used as a starting material for the synthesis of 5-iodo-2-methylbenzonitrile and 5-hydroxy-2-methylbenzonitrile. It may also be used in the preparation of 5-(2,4-dioxothiazolidin-3-yl)-2-methylbenzonitrile by reacting with thioglycolic acid methyl ester in the presence of 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole.
