Cresol, CP is an organic compound also known as hydroxytoluene, a methylphenol. It can be a solid or liquid and slowly oxidized by exposure to air. Cresols are precursors or synthetic intermediates to other compounds and materials, including plastics, pharmaceuticals, and dyes. CP or Chemically Pure grade products supplied by Spectrum are indicative of a grade suitable for general industrial use. These materials may or may not have a Certificate of Analysis available.
