Description:
AASTYs (Acrylic acid-co-styrenes) - like AASTY 11-50 - are highly-alternating copolymers, well-suited for the generation of native lipid nanodiscs. They are a 2022 novel developed series for membrane protein solubilization & stabilization. AASTY 11-50 gets its name from its molecular weight and Acrylic Acid : Styrene Ratio. These varying ratios of acrylic acid to styrene contribute to the hydrophilic properties of our AASTYs. In general lighter AASTYs, like 6-45 tend to be more aggressive, while heavier AASTYs, such as 11-50 show higher thermodynamic stability.
Every membrane protein solubilization needs to undergo a screening process in before. The characteristic phospholipid environment surrounding the different membrane proteins in question performs differently well with each polymer. To support you in this process, we offer a handy Screening Kit for AASTYs to test them all. We recommend the two following publications if you would like to get further information: Smith et al. 2020 & Timcenko et al. 2022

Description:
Ubiquitinization is an important cellular degradation process requiring sequential reactions that are mediated by three enzymes: E1, E2 and E3. PJA1, also known as Praja1 and RING finger protein 70, is a 643 amino acid E2-dependent E3-ubiquitin ligase that is abundantly expressed in the brain (1,2). Through interaction and activation with the E2-ubiquitin ligase UBC4, PJA1 mediates substrate-specific ubiquitination via its RING finger domain and facilitates ubiquitination (3). Overexpression of PJA1 in gastrointestinal cancers suggests that it may be responsible for the degradation of some anti-oncogenic proteins (4,5).

Description:
Nonfluorescent N-substituted maleimides react selectively with thiol compounds to form fluorescent derivatives. Fluorescent intensity of the dimethoxyphthalimidyl group is higher than that of the nonsubsituted phthalimidyl group. The analytical sensitivity of N-[4-(5,6-Dimethoxy-N-phthalimidyl)phenyl]maleimide (DPM) is about 3-times higher than that of N-[4-(2-phthalimidyl)phenyl]maleimide (PPM). DPM can be used as a precolumn labeling reagent in HPLC. DPM was also used for the determination of physiologically important thiols in biological fluids or therapeutic drug monitoring.

Description:
Human Interleukin family 1 Member 7 (IL1F7) is a member of the Interleukin 1 cytokine family. Five alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported with distinct expression profiles. The longest IL1F7 transcript, referred to as IL1F7b or IL1F7 isoform 1, encodes a 218 amino acid residues proprotein containing a 45 amino acid propeptide, which is cleaved to generate mature protein. IL1F7b binds to IL18 R alpha with low affinity but does not exert any IL18 agonistic or antagonistic effects. IL1F7b also binds interleukin 18 binding protein (IL-18BP), an inhibitory binding protein of interleukin 18 (IL-18), and subsequently forms a complex with IL18 receptor beta subunit, and through which it inhibits the activity of IL-18.

Description:
LHPP, also known as HDHD2B, is a 270 amino acid protein that exists as a homodimer and is a member of the HAD-like hydrolase superfamily. Expressed in liver, kidney and moderately in brain, LHPP is encoded by a gene located on 10, which houses over 1,200 genes and comprises nearly 4.5% of the human genome. Defects in some of the genes that map to chromosome 10 are associated with Charcot-Marie Tooth disease, Jackson-Weiss syndrome, Usher syndrome, nonsyndromatic deafness, Wolman’s syndrome, Cowden syndrome, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 and porphyria.
