The protein links integrin subunits to the tyrosine kinase FYN, an initiating step in coupling integrins to the Ras-ERK pathway and promoting cell cycle progression. The gene is a tumor suppressor gene candidate and a negative regulator of the Ras-p42/44 MAP kinase cascade. CAV1 and CAV2 are located next to each other on chromosome 7 and express colocalizing proteins that form a stable hetero-oligomeric complex. By using alternative initiation codons in the same reading frame, two isoforms (alpha and beta) are encoded by a single transcript from this gene.

Description:
GTF2H2 gene is part of a 500 kb inverted duplication on chromosome 5q13. This duplicated region contains at least four genes and repetitive elements which make it prone to rearrangements and deletions. The repetitiveness and complexity of the sequence have also caused difficulty in determining the organization of this genomic region. This gene is within the telomeric copy of the duplication. Deletion of this gene sometimes accompanies deletion of the neighboring SMN1 gene in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) patients but it is unclear if deletion of this gene contributes to the SMA phenotype. GTF2H2 is the 44 kDa subunit of RNA polymerase II transcription initiation factor IIH which is involved in basal transcription and nucleotide excision repair. Transcript variants for this gene have been described, but their full length nature has not been determined. A second copy of this gene within the centromeric copy of the duplication has been described in the literature. It is reported to be different by either two or four base pairs; however, no sequence data is currently available for the centromeric copy of the gene. This gene is part of a 500 kb inverted duplication on chromosome 5q13. Description:
CD6 is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that contains a 24-amino acid signal sequence, three extracellularscavenger receptor cysteine-rich(SRCR) domains, a membrane-spanning domain and a 44-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The CD6 glycoprotein is tyrosine phosphorylated during TCR-mediated T cell activation. CD6 shows significant homology to CD5. CD6 is present on mature thymocytes, peripheral T cells and a subset of B cells. Antibodies to CD6 are used to deplete T cells from bone marrow transplants to prevent graft versus host disease.
CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®488A is a green fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 490/515 nm) with excellent brightness and photostability. The dye is minimally charged for less non-specific binding. CF®488A also is compatible with super-resolution imaging by TIRF.

Description:
Matrix Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a large family of endopeptidases. Collectively, MMPs can degrade all kinds of extracellular matrix proteins, and can also process a number of bioactive molecules. They are known to be involved in the cleavage of cell surface receptors, the release of apoptotic ligands, and chemokine/cytokine inactivation. MMPs are also thought to play a major role in cell behaviors such as cell proliferation, migration (adhesion/dispersion), differentiation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and host defense.
This peptide is an exceptional MMP-2 (gelatinase A) and MMP-9 (gelatinase B) substrate: this peptide is used for the continuous spectrophotometric assay of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in combination with a color-developing thiol-reactive agent, 4,4’-dithiodipyridine or Ellman’s Reagent (as indicators). This thiol peptide-enzyme reaction has a Km of 0.004 M and a kcat of 103 s-1. Using this substrate, collagenase can be detected at concentrations as low as 2 ng/mL. HPLC and tandem mass spectrometry are also used to analyze MMP-2 and MMP-9 in conjunction with this peptide substrate. Sequence:Ac-PLG-SCH[CH2CH(CH3)2]-CO-LG-OC2H5 MW:655.9 Da % peak area by HPLC:95 Storage condition:-20° C

Description:
FAM84A is a 292 amino acid protein that belongs to the FAM84 family of proteins. Predominantly expressed in testis, FAM84A shares 44% amino acid identity with the related protein FAM84B. FAM84A localizes to a subcellular membrane region where there is no contact between neighboring cells and is believed to play a role in cell morphology and motility. More specifically, the expression of FAM84A increases cell motility. Two FAM84A isoforms are expressed due to alternative splicing events. Isoform 2 can be phosphorylated on various serine residues and this phosphorylation is associated with cellular morphology. FAM84A is upregulated in colorectal cancer, lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma and bladder cancer tissues. Via its ability to increase cell motility, FAM84A may contribute to the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a protein of 12 kDa, identified asβ2-microglobulin.β2-microglobulin non-covalently associates with the 44 kDa chain to form the HLA Class I antigen complex. Human β2-microglobulin associated with HLA Class I antigens is expressed on many types of cells including lymphocytes, thymocytes, monocytes, granulocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and epithelial cells. It is absent on erythrocytes. This MAb is specific to human β2-microglobulin and does not react with non-human primate cells. This antibody reacts with all cell types excluding erythrocytes. The detection of β2-microglobulin in body fluids has been used as a tumor marker and for monitoring patients with HIV infection. Clone 246 E9.E7 is the same as HLA.ABC.m2.

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene catalyzes the conversion of sn-glycerol 3-phosphate to glycerone phosphate. The encoded protein is found in the cytoplasm, associated with the plasma membrane, where it binds the sodium channel, voltage-gated, type V, alpha subunit (SCN5A). Defects in this gene are a cause of Brugada syndrome type 2 (BRS2) as well as sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

Description:
The mouse monoclonal antibody recognizes CD1b, a 44 kDa type I glycoprotein associated with beta2-microglobulin. It is expressed on dendritic cells, Langerhans cells, thymocytes, and T acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells. The CD1 multigene family encodes five forms of the CD1 T-cell surface glycoprotein in human, designated CD1A, 1B, 1C, 1D and 1E. CD1, a type 1 membrane protein, has structural similarity to the MHC class I antigen and has been shown to present lipid antigens for recognition by T lymphocytes. Constitutive endocytosis of CD1B molecules and the differential sorting of MHC class II from lysosomes separate peptide- and lipid antigen-presenting molecules during dendritic cell maturation. CD1B is also expressed in interdigitating cells.
CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®568 is a red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 562/583 nm) with superior brightness and photostability. It also is compatible with super-resolution imaging by STORM and TIRF.
