Converts adenosine 3'-phosphate 5'-phosphosulfate (PAPS) to adenosine 5'-phosphosulfate (APS) and 3'(2')-phosphoadenosine 5'- phosphate (PAP) to AMP. Has 1000-fold lower activity towards inositol 1,4-bisphosphate (Ins(1,4)P2) and inositol 1,3,4-trisphosphate (Ins(1,3,4)P3), but does not hydrolyze Ins(1)P, Ins(3,4)P2, Ins(1,3,4,5)P4 or InsP6.

Description:
Protein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the g phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. By this basic mechanism, protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. With more than 500 gene products, the protein kinase family is one of the largest families of proteins in eukaryotes. The family has been classified in 8 major groups based on sequence comparison of their tyrosine (PTK) or serine/threonine (STK) kinase catalytic domains.

Description:
Sarcosine oxidase is an inducible enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative demethylation of sarcosine to glycine, hydrogen peroxide, and 5,10-methylene-tetrahydrofolate in the presence of tetrahydrofolate and oxygen. Sarcosine oxidase is also able to oxidize cyclic amino acids such as L-proline and L-pipecolic acid, albeit at reduced rates.

Description:
GMPPB is a 360 amino acid protein that belongs to the transferase hexapeptide repeat family and is involved in protein modification pathways. Functioning as a GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase, GMPPB enzymatically catalyzes the conversion of mannose-1-phosphate and GTP to GDP-mannose and a free phosphate, a reaction that is involved in the production of N-linked oligosaccharides. Defects in the gene encoding GMPPB that cause errors in the glycosylation pathway may lead to congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG). CDGs are multisystemic diseases that often involve both the central and peripheral nervous systems and are often characterized by endocrine and coagulation disorders. GMPPB is expressed as two isoforms due to alternative splicing events.

Description:
Inhibits glucokinase (GCK) by forming an inactive complex with this enzyme. The affinity of GCKR for GCK is modulated by fructose metabolites: GCKR with bound fructose 6-phosphate has increased affinity for GCK, while GCKR with bound fructose 1-phosphate has strongly decreased affinity for GCK and does not inhibit GCK activity.

Description:
STK31 (Serine/threonine protein kinase 31) is similar to a mouse gene that encodes a putative protein kinase with a tudor domain, and shows testis specific expression. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Description:
G6PC hydrolyzes glucose-6-phosphate to glucose in the endoplasmic reticulum. It forms with the glucose-6-phosphate transporter (SLC37A4/G6PT) the complex responsible for glucose production through glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis. Hence, it is the key enzyme in homeostatic regulation of blood glucose levels.Glucose-6-phosphatase is an integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that catalyzes the hydrolysis of D-glucose 6-phosphate to D-glucose and orthophosphate. It is a key enzyme in glucose homeostasis, functioning in gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. Defects in the enzyme cause glycogen storage disease type I (von Gierke disease). Description:
The Reflectoquant Calcium test includes test strips and all necessary additional reagents and is suitable for rapid determination of calcium in aqueous media. Calcium is an important parameter for boiling and cooling water. If the water contains calcium, deposits can be found in the plants and this can influence the function of the machines. Calcium also needs to be analyzed in drinking water and especially in beer. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide calcium ions react with glyoxal-bis(2-hydroxyanil) to form a red complex that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex. For pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the calcium concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using this quantitative method we recommend our semi-quantitative MQuant test strips for calcium. Further quantitative determination methods can be found with our Spectroquant tests.
