Description:
CHRDL2 is a novel chordin like protein that can act as a BMP antagonist. Amember of the chordin family of proteins, it contains a signal peptide andthree CR (cysteine-rich repeat) domains. When expressed as a recombinantprotein it is secreted and binds to activin A, but not to BMP-2, -4, -6. Differential expression has been detected in developing chondrocytes, myoblasts, osteoblasts, and osteoarthritic joints. Complex alternative splicing of CHRDL2 potentially results in distinct isoforms that differ at their C termini, in the expression of signal peptide, and in the content of CR domains. CHRDL2 was originally characterized as a novel protein exclusively expressed in breast, lung, and colon tumors.

Description:
The exosome is a multi-protein complex composed of several highly conserved subunits, some of which are 3? to 5? exoribonucleases. The complex is involved in a variety of cellular processes and is responsible for degrading unstable mRNAs that contain AU-rich elements (AREs) in their untranslated 3? regions. DIS3, also known as RRP44, is a 958 amino acid protein that localizes to both the cytoplasm and the nucleus and contains one PINc domain. Widely expressed with highest expression in testis, DIS3 functions as a component of the exosome exoribonuclease complex and is required for processing of 7S pre-RNA into a mature nuclear complex and, ultimately, for proper mitotic progression. Abnormal expression levels of DIS3 may be associated with colon cancer, suggesting a role for DIS3 in tumorigenesis. Multiple isoforms of DIS3 exist due to alternative splicing events.

Description:
This gene is a member of the N-myc downregulated gene family which belongs to the alpha/beta hydrolase superfamily. The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic protein involved in stress responses, hormone responses, cell growth, and differentiation. Mutation in this gene has been reported to be causative for hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy-Lom. May have a growth inhibitory role. Ubiquitous; expressed most prominently in placental membranes and prostate, kidney, small intestine, and ovary tissues. Reduced expression in adenocarcinomas compared to normal tissues. In colon, prostate and placental membranes, the cells that border the lumen show the highest expression.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a protein of 40 kDa, identified as Thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1). TTF-1 is a member of the NKx2 family of homeodomain transcription factors. It is expressed in epithelial cells of the thyroid gland and the lung. Nuclei from liver, stomach, pancreas, small intestine, colon, kidney, breast, skin, testes, pituitary, prostate, and adrenal glands are unreactive. Anti-TTF-1 is useful in differentiating primary adenocarcinoma of the lung from metastatic carcinomas originating in the breast, mediastinal germ cell tumors, and malignant mesothelioma. It can also be used to differentiate small cell lung carcinoma from lymphoid infiltrates.Loss of TTF-1 expression in non-small cell lung carcinoma has been associated with aggressive behavior of such neoplasms. TTF-1 reactivity is also seen in thyroid malignancies.

Description:
STEAP1 Antibody: The six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of prostate 1 (STEAP1) was the first member of a family of metalloreductases identified as cell-surface antigens in prostate tissue. The normal function of STEAP is still uncertain; unlike other members of the STEAP family, STEAP1 does not promote iron or copper reduction or uptake and lacks the FNO-like reductase domain critical for activity. However, its expression is highly increased in multiple cancer cell lines, including prostate, bladder, colon, and ovarian cancers. Supporting this is evidence that STEAP1 peptides can be used to stimulate CD8+ T cells from healthy donors, enabling them to recognize STEAP1-positive human tumor cells, suggesting that STEAP1 may a potential target for cancer immunotherapy. At least three isoforms of STEAP1 are known to exist.

Description:
TL1A Antibody: Members in the TNF and its receptor superfamilies regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. DR3 (also termed Wsl-1, Apo-3, TRAMP, and LARD) is preferentially expressed by T lymphocytes and upregulated during T cell activation. The ligand for DR3 was recently identified and designated TL1A. TL1A also binds decoy receptor DcR3/TR6, which is expressed in several lung and colon carcinomas and in some normal tissues. TL1A induces apoptosis and NF-kappa B activation in DR3 expressing cells, which is antagonized by DcR3. TL1A is upregulated by proinflammatory cytokines TNF and IL-1. TL1A is a longer variant of TL1 (also called VEGI).

MARVELD1 Antibody: MARVELD1, (MARVEL domain-containing 1), is one of the MARVEL (MAL and related proteins for vesicle trafficking and membrane link) domain-containing proteins. It is a nuclear-localized protein that is widely expressed in normal human tissues. While it has been reported to be overexpressed in colon cancer, MARVELD1 protein levels are generally lower in several primary tumors including ovary, breast, kidney, bladder and liver. This lower level of MARVELD1 expression in tumors is thought to be due to a higher methylation status of the MARVELD1 promoter as treatment of MDA-MB-361 with 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine restores MARVELD1 expression, suggesting that loss of MARVELD1 expression may contribute to tumorgenicity.

Lymphocyte Antigen 6H (LY6H) is a novel member of the LY6 family of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored cell surface glycoproteins. LY6H contains one UPAR/Ly6 domain. Human LY6H is synthesized as a 140 amino acid precursor that contains a 25 amino acid signal sequence, 20 amino acid propeptide that is removed in the mature form, and a 90 amino acid mature chain. LY6H is highly expressed in the brain (cerebral cortex, amygdala, hippocampus and subthalamic nucleus) and in acute human leukemic cell line MOLT-3. It is also found in lower levels in testis, pancreas, small intestine and colon. It has been shown that LY6H may play a role in both the central nervous system and the immune system.

Description:
GALC is a lysosomal enzyme that hydrolyzes galactose ester bonds in various galactolipids, including galactosylceramide, galactosylsphingosine, lactosylceramide and monogalactosyldiglyceride. Galactolipids contain glucose and/or galactose, and are found in the brain and other nerve tissue, especially the myelin sheath. Galactosylceramide is a major lipid in myelin, kidney, and epithelial cells of the small intestine and colon. Mutations in the GALC gene that compromise protein function correlate to Krabbe disease (globoid cell leukodystrophy, GLD). GLD is an autosomal recessive condition that affects approximately 1 in 150,000 infants and results in progressive destruction of the nervous system. The twitcher mouse is a model system for GLD; the genotype is a premature stop codon (W339X) in the galactosylceramidase (GALC) gene that abolishes enzymatic activity. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.

Description:
BCAS1 Antibody: BCAS1 was identified through positional cloning and was found to be overexpressed in most but not all breast cancer cells lines. Little is known about this protein; BCAS1 is cytoplasmically localized and is thought to form homodimers through coiled-coil structures. High levels of BCAS1 mRNA are seen in brain and prostate tissues, with lower amounts observed in colon, intestine and testis. Cells engineered to overexpress BCAS1 did not lose anchorage-dependent growth or increase their rate of growth, suggesting that BCAS1 is not a prototypical oncogene. The BCAS1 gene was also found to be amplified in other carcinomas such as pancreatic carcinoma, suggesting that BCAS1 may play in important role in the control of cell proliferation.

Description:
The cysteine-rich, adipose tissue-specific, secretory factor resistin (resistance to insulin, also known as ADSF) is a secreted hormone that potentially links obesity to diabetes. Resistin is rich in serine and cysteine residues and contains a unique cysteine repeat motif. Resistin and the resistin-like molecules share the characteristic cysteine composition and other signature features. Resistin-like a is a secreted protein that has restricted tissue distribution and is most highly expressed in adipose tissue. Another family member, Resistin-like b, is a secreted protein expressed only in the gastrointestinal tract, particularly in the colon, in both mouse and human. Resistin-like b expression is highest in proliferative epithelial cells and is markedly increased in tumors, suggesting a role in intestinal proliferation.

Description:
Stabilizes and promotes the formation of a nuclear actin cortical network. Stimulates actin polymerization in vitro by binding and stabilizing the pointed end of growing filaments. Inhibits beta-catenin activity by preventing its accumulation in the nucleus. Acts by influencing the nuclear accumulation of beta-catenin through a CRM1-dependent export pathway. Links centrosomes to the nuclear envelope via a microtubule association. EMD and BAF are cooperative cofactors of HIV-1 infection. Association of EMD with the viral DNA requires the presence of BAF and viral integrase. The association of viral DNA with chromatin requires the presence of BAF and EMD. Required for proper localization of non-farnesylated prelamin-A/C.Tissue specificity; Skeletal muscle, heart, colon, testis, ovary and pancreas.

Description:
Claudin-18 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CLDN18 gene. CLDN18 belongs to the large claudin family of proteins, which form tight junction strands in epithelial cells. The expression of isoform A2 (CLDN18.2) is restricted to the stomach mucosa where it is predominantly observed in the epithelial cells of the pit region and the base of the gastric glands including exocrine and endocrine cells (at protein level). However, CLDN18.2 is highly expressed in certain primary malignant tumors, such as gastric cancer (GC), breast cancer, colon cancer and liver cancer. CLDN18.2 is expressed in 50 - 70% of primary gastric adenocarcinomas and their metastases, thus it is considered a promising candidate for targeted gastric cancer therapy. Therapeutic antibodies against Claudin 18.2 have great therapeutic potential and very low toxicity.
