Description:
Guanylin is thought to modulate intestinal water/electrolyte transport in a paracrine mode reported the nucleotide sequence of the gene, the characteristics of its circulating molecular form, and its localization in enterochromaffin cells of the gut. The gene, approximately 2.6 kb in size, consists of 3 exons interrupted by 2 introns. The hormonal form of guanylin is a 94-amino acid peptide with a molecular mass of 10.3 kDa. Guanylin is synthesized by gut enterochromaffin cells as a prohormone of 115 amino acids and is processed to the molecular form of 94 amino acids circulating in the blood. Total 104 AA. MW: 11,5 kDa (calculated). UniProtKB acc.no. Q02747 (Val22-Cys115). N-terminal His-tag (10 extra AA). Protein identity confirmed by LC-MS/MS.

Description:
Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. Zinc finger and BTB domain-containing protein 26 (ZBTB26), also known as ZNF481, is a 441 amino acid member of the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Localized to the nucleus, ZBTB26 contains a BTB domain, also known as a POZ domain, which inhibits DNA binding and mediates homotypic and heterotypic dimerization. Characteristics of the BTB domain suggest that ZBTB26 functions as a transcription regulator.

Description:
This peptide corresponds to the GAP26 domain of the extracellular loop of the major vascular connexins (Cx37, Cx40), designated as 37,40Gap 26 according to Cx homology. It was used to investigate the role of gap junctions in the spread of endothelial hyperpolarizations evoked by cyclopiazonic acid (CPA) through the wall of the rodent iliac artery. The gap junction plaques constructed from Cx37 and Cx40 were abundant in the endothelium. This peptide provides inhibitory effects against subintimal hyperpolarization

Description:
BMPs (Bone Morphogenetic Proteins) belong to the TGF-β superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. BMP-2 is a potent osteoinductive cytokine, capable of inducing bone and cartilage formation in association with osteoconductive carriers such as collagen and synthetic hydroxyapatite. In addition to its osteogenic activity, BMP-2 plays an important role in cardiac morphogenesis, and is expressed in a variety of tissues, including lung, spleen, brain, liver, prostate ovary and small intestine. The functional form of BMP-2 is a 26 kDa protein composed of two identical 114 amino acid polypeptide chains linked by a single disulfide bond. Each BMP-2 monomer is expressed as the C-terminal part of a precursor polypeptide, which also contains a 23 amino acid signal sequence for secretion, and a 259 amino acid propeptide. After dimerization of this precursor, the covalent bonds between the propeptide (which is also a disulfide-linked homodimer) and the mature BMP-2 ligand are cleaved by a furin-type protease. Recombinant Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 is a 26.0 kDa homodimeric protein consisting of two 115 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Description:
IL-20 is a member of the IL-10 family of regulatory cytokines, which includes IL-10, IL-19, IL-20, IL-22, IL-24 and IL-26. Members of this family share partial homology in their amino acid sequences, but they are dissimilar in their biological functions. IL-20 is a hematopoietic growth factor capable of stimulating colony formation by CD34+ multipotential progenitors, but not by other progenitor cells. IL-20 signals through a receptor system composed of type I IL-20Rα and type II IL-20Rβ. Over-expression of IL-20 in keratinocytes expressing both receptor subunits has been implicated in the induction of inflammatory skin disease. Recombinant Human IL-20 is a 35.2 kDa homodimeric protein consisting of two 153 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Description:
Putative adhesion molecule of myelomonocytic-derived cells that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface. In the immune response, may act as an inhibitory receptor upon ligand induced tyrosine phosphorylation by recruiting cytoplasmic phosphatase(s) via their SH2 domain(s) that block signal transduction through dephosphorylation of signaling molecules. Induces apoptosis in acute myeloid leukemia (in vitro).

The Gap junction beta-2 protein (GJB2), also known as Connexin 26, is member of the gap junction protein family which form structures that were shown to consist of cell-to-cell channels that facilitate the transfer of ions and small molecules between cells (1). Mutations in the GJB2 gene are thought to be responsible for as much as 35-45% of congenital sensorineural hearing loss in some populations (2). Other mutations in this gene have also been linked to a wide array of skin diseases (3).
