Description:
The DEK gene encodes a protein with one SAP domain. This protein binds to cruciform and superhelical DNA which then induces positive supercoils into closed circular DNA, and is also involved during mRNA processing in splice site selection. Chromosomal aberrations involving this region, increased expression of this gene, and the presence of against this protein are all associated with various diseases. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Description:
B cell adaptor for phosphoinositide 3-kinase (BCAP) is a tyrosine kinase substrate that bridges B cell receptor (BCR) associated kinases to the PIK3 pathway. Syk, Btk or Lyn-dependent tyrosine phosphorylation of BCAP, provides binding sites for the p85 subunit of PIK3. BCAP mRNA is present in mouse spleen, thymus, liver, lung, macrophage and B cell lines. Human BCAP maps to chromosome 10q24.2.

Description:
GTP cyclohydrolase I feedback regulatory protein (GFRP) is encoded by the gene GCHFR. GFRP mediates feedback inhibition of GTP cyclohydrolase I activity by tetrahydrobiopterin. GFRP also acts as a mediator for the stimulatory effect of phenylalanine on enzyme activity. L-phenylalanine reverses this inhibition. The molecular weight of GFRP is approximately 9.5kDa although cross-linking experiments have shown that GFRP is usually found as a homodimer or as a pentamer. 15q15.

Description:
Plays an important role in targeting the monocarboxylate transporters SLC16A1, SLC16A3 and SLC16A8 to the plasma membrane. Plays pivotal roles in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation and tumor progression. Stimulates adjacent fibroblasts to produce matrix metalloproteinases (MMPS). Seems to be a receptor for oligomannosidic glycans. In vitro, promotes outgrowth of astrocytic processes.

Description:
Bleomycin hydrolase (BMH) is a cytoplasmic cysteine peptidase that is highly conserved through evolution; however, the only known activity of the enzyme is metabolic inactivation of the glycopeptide bleomycin (BLM), an essential component of combination chemotherapy regimens for cancer. The protein contains the signature active site residues of the cysteine protease papain superfamily. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

ATP-dependent microtubule severing protein. Microtubule severing may promote reorganization of cellular microtubule arrays and the release of microtubules from the centrosome following nucleation. Required for membrane traffic from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi and for completion of the abscission stage of cytokinesis. May also play a role in axon growth and the formation of axonal branches.

Description:
The c Abl proto oncogene encodes a protein tyrosine kinase that is located in the cytoplasm and nucleus. In chronic myelogenous leukemia and in a subset of acute lymphoblastic leukemias, the c Abl proto oncogene undergoes a (9;22) chromosomal translocation producing a novel rearranged chromosome (the Philadelphia chromosome) As the result of the fusion of c Abl sequences from chromosome 9 to the Bcr gene on chromosome 22. The molecular consequence of this translocation is the generation of a chimeric Bcr/Abl mRNA encoding activated Abl protein tyrosine kinase.

Description:
The CD35 antigen is composed of four different allotypes having different molecular weights [A (or F) - 160 kDa, B (or S) - 190 kDa, C - 220 kDa, and D - 250 kDa]. It is the receptor for C3b and is found on B cells, a subset of T cells, monocytes, neutrophils, follicular dendritic cells, erythrocytes, and kidney glomelular podocytes. CD35 mediates neutrophil and monocyte phagocytosis of particles coated with C3b and/or C4b. This interaction also enhances phagocytosis mediated by the Fc receptors.
