Description:   The Hsp90 family of heat shock proteins represents one of the most abundantly expressed and highly conserved families of cellular chaperones whose expression can be upregulated under conditions of cellular stress. It includes cytoplasmic (Hsp90-alpha/beta), ER (Grp94) and mitochondrial (TRAP1) localized members. Hsp90 is structurally composed of an N-terminal ATP binding domain, a medial substrate-binding region, and a C-terminal dimerization motif.  Hsp90 dimers function in cooperation with cochaperones to stabilize a multitude of client protein substrates. TRAP1 (aka Hsp75) was originally identified as a chaperone binding partner for retinoblastoma protein. TRAP1 was later found by immunofluorescence to be localized to the mitochondria. TRAP1 is significantly more active as an ATPase due in part to the lack of regulatory elements in the C-terminus, but retains the ability to dimerize. However, it does not form stable complexes with typical cochaperones of Hsp90 like p23 and HOP4. Recently TRAP1 has been identified as a protective element for cell survival, and has been suggested as a novel target for anti-cancer therapeutics.

Description:   Grp78 (Glucose Regulated 78kDa Protein), is also known as BiP or Immunoglobulin heavy chain binding protein. It is a stressresponse protein which is induced by agents or conditions that adversely affect endoplasmic reticulum (ER) function. This protein is essential for the proper glycosylation, folding, and assembly of many membrane bound and secreted proteins as well as for maintenance of cell homeostasis and the prevention of apoptosis.

Description:   Anti-HMW Host Cell Proteins Antibody recognizes high molecular weight protein fractions from E.coli. This antibody has been anlyzed by 2D electrophoresis western blot to assure highest possible coverage of E.coli HCP. Host Cell Proteins are process-related impurities derived from a host cell expression system that may be present in trace amounts in a final drug substance. HCP Antibodies are used to detect impurities in biologically-based therapeutics. Detecting impurities often unseen by 1-D electrophoresis, a 2D electrophoresis western blot analysis delivers more complete insight into the immunocoverage of protein components of the host cell lysate.

Description:   IRF7 antibody detects the human IRF7. Interferons (IFNs) are involved in a multitude of immune interactions during viral infections and play a major role in both the induction and regulation of innate and adaptive antiviral mechanisms. During infection, host-virus interactions signal downstream molecules such as transcription factors such as IFN regulatory factor-3 (IRF3) which can act to stimulate transcription of IFN-a/b genes. IRF7 has been shown to play a role in the transcriptional activation of virus-inducible cellular genes, including interferon beta chain genes. IRF7 play a major role in the innate immune pathway, interacting with the Toll-like receptor (TLR) adaptor proteins MyD88 and Tirp/TRAM and functioning as an intermediate TLR4 and TLR9 signaling. There are at least four differentially spliced isoforms of IRF7, although their function has not been clearly established. Anti-IRF7 antibodies are ideal for investigators involved in transcription factors, infectious disease and cytokines and growth factors research.

Description:   A novel cytokine related to IL-2 and IL-15 was recently identified and designated IL-21. The receptor for IL-21 (IL-21R, also termed NILR for novel Interleukin receptor) is a new member of the class I cytokine receptor family. IL-21R forms a complex with the common cytokine receptor gamma chain, gammac, and mediates IL-21 signaling. Both IL-21R and the gammac are necessary for the IL-21 function. IL-21 and its receptor activate JAK-STAT signaling pathway. IL-21R is expressed in spleen, thymus, natural killer (NK), T and B cell lines. IL-21 plays a role in the proliferation and maturation of NK, B and T cell populations.

Description:   Claudin1 (CLDN1), a member of the claudin family, is an integral membrane protein and a component of tight junction strands. Tight junctions are specialized regions of cell to cell contact consisting of networking strands that act as a molecular gasket for preventing the leakage of ions, water, etc., between cells. They are abundant in luminal epithelial sheets where they maintain epithelial cell polarity. Different tissues exhibit different Claudin composition and CLDN1 expression is often cell type and tissue dependent. Loss of function mutations result in neonatal ichthyosis-sclerosing cholangitis syndrome. CLDN1 and CLDN2 were found to be overexpressed in colonal cancer tissues and may be useful as tumor markers and targets for the treatment of colorectal cancer. Characterization of Claudins expression in human tumors can be an additional diagnostic tool. Recent studies show that CLDN1 has gastric tumor suppressive activity and is a direct transcriptional target of RUNX3. Along with SCARB1, LDL-R, and the tetraspanin superfamily member CD81, CLDN1 has been reported to be an entry factor for the Hepatitis C virus.

Description:   Members in the Bcl-2 family are critical regulators of apoptosis by either inhibiting or promoting cell death. Bcl-2 homology 3 (BH3) domain containing pro-apoptotic proteins, such as Bax, Bid, and Bik, form a growing subclass of the Bcl-2 family. Another such protein is the Bcl-2-antagonist of cell death (Bad). Bad regulates apoptosis by forming heterodimers with anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-xL, thereby preventing them from binding with Bax. Bad activity is regulated by its phosphorylation; it is inactivated by kinases such as Akt and MAP kinase and thus promotes cell survival, whereas JNK-induced phosphorylation promotes the apoptotic role of Bad.

Description:   CD33 is a member of the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family that is highly expressed on myeloid progenitor cells. Assessment of CD33 expression is of great importance in the immunodiagnosis of acute leukemia, allowing distinction between myeloid and lymphoid origin, as CD33 is generally restricted to the myelomonocytic lineage. CD33 can associate with the protein-tyrosine phosphatases SHP-1 and SHP-2 and thus could modulate downstream signaling events associated with cell activation. Common variants of CD33 have been found to be associated with late-onset Alzheimer's disease.

Description:   The ING1 (inhibitor of growth) tumor suppressor protein shares a number of biological functions that are very similar with p53. In humans, three ING1 exons and two introns generate four alternative splice variants produced from three different promoter regions (p33 ING1, p24 ING1, p27 ING1, p47 ING1). The ING1 family has been reported to mediate growth arrest, senescence, anchorage-dependent growth and apoptosis, as well as influence chemosensitivity.
