The H57-597 monoclonal antibody is specific for the beta chain of the mouse T cell Receptor (TCR). The crosslinking induces activation and proliferation of T cells, as a plate-bound or a soluble H57-597, or the plate-bound antibody can induce apoptosis, based on assay conditions. The beta chain of the TCR can combine with the alpha chain of the receptor to produce the alpha-beta TCR, which is expressed by the NKT cells, by the NK1.1+ thymocytes and most of the T cells. The beta chain does not react with the gamma-delta TCR-bearing cells, expressed by a small number of T cells. This antibody can be used as a phenotypic marker for the TCR beta expressing cells or for the functional purpose of TCR-mediated cell activation or apoptosis.BG Violet 450 conjugate is an alternative to the Pacific Blue, eFluor 450, or BD Horizon V450 dyes. Description:
Spectrin is an actin binding protein that is a major component of the plasma membrane skeleton. Spectrins function as membrane organizers and stabilizers by forming dimers, tetramers and higher polymers. Spectrin Alpha and spectrin Beta are present in erythrocytes, whereas spectrin Alpha II (also designated fodrin Alpha) and spectrin Beta I (also designated fodrin Beta) are present in other somatic cells. The spectrin tetramers in erythrocytes act as barriers to lateral diffusion, but spectrin dimers seem to lack this function. Spectrin Beta III is highly homologous to both spectrin Beta I and spectrin Beta II. Western blot analysis shows that spectrin Beta III migrates at a higher molecular mass than predicted in the kidney. Spectrin Beta III is highly expressed in brain, kidney, pancreas, and liver, and at lower levels in lung and placenta. Specifically, spectrin Beta III constitutes a major component of the Golgi and vesicular membrane skeletons.

Description:
The beta-amyloid peptide (beta A4), proteolytically released from the amyloid precursor protein (APP), provides the principal component of senile plaques in Alzheimer's disease. Cleavage of APP by alpha-secretase or alternatively by beta-secretase leads to generation and extracellular release of soluble APP peptides, S-APP-alpha and S-APP-beta, respectively, and the retention of corresponding membrane-anchored C-terminal fragments, C83 and C99. Subsequent processing of C83 by gamma-secretase yields P3 peptides. This is the major secretory pathway and is nonamyloidogenic. Alternatively, presenilin/ nicastrin-mediated gamma-secretase processing of C99 releases the amyloid beta proteins, amyloid-beta 40 (Abeta40) and amyloid-beta 42 (Abeta42), major components of amyloid plaques, and the cytotoxic C-terminal fragments, gamma-CTF(50), gamma-CTF(57) and gamma-CTF(59).
