Description:
Chicken polyclonal IgY Antibodies against cation-dependent mannose-6-phosphate receptor. This protein is a receptor for mannose-6-phosphate groups on lysosomal enzymes. The receptor forms a homodimer or homotetramer for intracellular targeting of lysosomal enzymes and export of newly synthesized lysosomal enzymes into the cell secretions. The receptor is an integral membrane protein that localizes to the trans-Golgi reticulum, endosomes, and the plasma membrane.

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is the pore-forming subunit of an N-type voltage-dependent calcium channel, which controls neurotransmitter release from neurons. The encoded protein forms a complex with alpha-2, beta, and delta subunits to form the high-voltage activated channel. This channel is sensitive to omega-conotoxin-GVIA and omega-agatoxin-IIIA but insensitive to dihydropyridines. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. ORAI1 belongs to the Orai family. ORAI1 (CRACM1) is a plasma membrane protein essential for store-operated calcium entry. Defects in ORAI1 are a cause of severe combined immunodeficiency with CRAC channel dysfunction (CRAC-SCID).CRACM1 is a plasma membrane protein essential for store-operated calcium entry (Vig et al., 2006 [PubMed 16645049]).

Description:
The EF-hand domain is a twelve amino acid loop motif that is commonly found in proteins that participate in calcium-binding events within the cell. EF-hand domains generally exist in a pair that, together, form a stable four-helix bundle that enables the binding of calcium ions. Swiprosin-2, also known as EFHD1 (EF-hand domain-containing protein D1), SWS2, PP3051 or MST133, is a 239 amino acid protein that contains two EF-hand domains and is expressed in a wide variety of tissues, including brain, liver, heart, kidney, testis, ovaries and spleen. Expression of Swiprosin-2, a possible calcium-binding protein, is upregulated during neuronal differentiation, suggesting a role for Swiprosin-2 in brain development and maturation.

Description:
There are four members (MRGX1-4) in the human MRGX familly. MRGX1 and MRGX2 receptors stimulate both G Alpha q- and G Alpha i -regulated pathways, while MRGX3 and MRGX4 receptors mainly activate G Alpha q-regulated pathways. G Alpha q proteins are involved in the calcium-signaling pathway downstream of the MRGX receptors. MRGX receptors are unique in that they are expressed in a subset of small dorsal root and trigeminal sensory neurons. Probably involved in the function of nociceptive neurons. May regulate nociceptor function and/or development, including the sensation or modulation of pain. Potently activated by enkephalins including BAM22 (bovine adrenal medulla peptide 22) and BAM (8-22). BAM22 is the most potent compound and evoked a large and dose-dependent release of intracellular calcium in stably transfected cells. G(alpha)q proteins are involved in the calcium-signaling pathway.

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is a membrane protein that can form a non-selective channel permeable to calcium and other cations. The encoded protein appears to be induced to form channels by a receptor tyrosine kinase-activated phosphatidylinositol second messenger system and also by depletion of intracellular calcium stores. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011].

Description:
TPT1 (translationally controlled tumor protein 1) is a 23 kDa member of the TCTP family of calcium binding proteins. TPT1 is localized in the cytoplasm and widely expressed and serves as a transcriptional activator, calcium transporter, histamine inducer and antiapoptotic caspase 3 inhibitor. TPT1 is a cytokine-like molecule that causes the release of histamine, IL-4 and IL-13 from basophils as well as the secretion of IL-8 and a calcium response in eosinophils. TPT1 plays a pivotal role in allergic diseases and due to its wide distribution in brain, is thought to be involved in neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Down syndrome.

Description:
This gene encodes a member of the sodium/calcium exchanger integral membrane protein family. Three mammalian isoforms in family 8 have been identified. Na+/Ca2+ exchange proteins are involved in maintaining Ca2+ homeostasis in a wide variety of cell types. The protein is regulated by intracellular calcium ions and is found in both the plasma membrane and intracellular organellar membranes, where exchange of Na+ for Ca2+ occurs in an electrogenic manner. Alternative splicing has been observed for this gene and multiple variants have been described.
