Description:
Cell Biolabs’ OxiSelect™ Nitric Oxide (Nitrite/Nitrate) Assay Kit is a simple, colorimetric assay that quantitatively measures NO in various samples by NO2-/NO3- determination. First, the nitrate (NO3-) in the sample is converted to nitrite (NO2-) by nitrate reductase enzyme. Next, total nitrite is detected with Griess Reagents as a dye product. Kits are available with either colorimetric or fluorometric detection.

Description:
Cytoplasmic dyneins are large enzyme complexes with a molecular mass of about 1,200 kD. They contain two force-producing heads formed primarily from dynein heavy chains, and stalks linking the heads to a basal domain, which contains a varying number of accessory intermediate chains. The complex is involved in intracellular transport and motility. DYNLL1 is a light chain and exists as part of this complex but also physically interacts with and inhibits the activity of neuronal nitric oxide synthase. Binding of this protein destabilizes the neuronal nitric oxide synthase dimer, a conformation necessary for activity, and it may regulate numerous biologic processes through its effects on nitric oxide synthase activity.Cytoplasmic dyneins are large enzyme complexes with a molecular mass of about 1,200 kD. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized.

Description:
DDAH, a dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase, hydrolyzes dimethyl arginine (ADMA) and monomethyl arginine (MMA), both inhibitors of nitric oxide synthases, and may be involved in in-vivo modulation of nitric oxide production (1,2). Impairment of DDAH causes ADMA accumulation and a reduction in cGMP generation (3). DDAH II, the predominant DDAH isoform in endothelial cells, facilitates the induction of nitric oxide synthesis by all-trans-Retinoic acid (atRA) (4). DDAH proteins are highly expressed in colon, kidney, stomach and liver tissues (1).

Description:
Thioredoxin-interacting protein (TXNIP) belongs to the arrestin family and plays a critical role in the antioxidant defense mechanisms of hematopoietic cells by activating the p53 pathway during oxidative stress (1,2). It functions as a transcriptional repressor and acts as an oxidative stress mediator by inhibiting thioredoxin activity (2). TXNIP expression is reduced in many types of tumors, and TXNIP overexpression inhibits tumor growth by blocking cell-cycle progression (3). It has recently reported that TXNIP deficiency correlates with a high incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (4). TXNIP and p53 interactions could potentially be a therapeutic target for oxidative stress-related diseases such as hematopoietic malignancies and metabolic diseases (5).
