Description:
This MAb recognizes proteins of 19-22 kDa (reducing) and 38 kDa-44 kDa (non-reducing), identified as various isoforms of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor or Vascular Permeability Factor (VEGF/VPF). It is highly specific to VEGF, which is a homodimeric, disulfide-linked glycoprotein with a close homology to platelet derived growth factor (PDGF). There are multiple isoforms of VEGF containing 206-, 189-, 165-, and 121-amino acid residues. The smaller two isoforms, VEGF165 and VEGF121, are secreted proteins and act as diffusible agents, whereas the larger two remain cell associated. VEGF/VPF plays an important role in angiogenesis, which promotes tumor progression and metastasis.
CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®568 is a red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 562/583 nm) with superior brightness and photostability. It also is compatible with super-resolution imaging by STORM and TIRF.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a glycoprotein of 44-88kDa, which is identified as CD28. It is the critical Tcell co-stimulatory receptor which provides to the cell the important second activation signal by binding CD80 and CD86 that are expressed by antigen presenting cells. Besides its co-stimulation role, CD28 functions in preventing Tcells from anergic hyporesponsive state or from undergoing premature apoptotic cell death. it is also expressed on human fetal NK cells and some NK cell lines, whereas on murine NK cells the CD28 expression is much broader.

Description:
GTF2 is encoded by a gene that is part of a 500 kb inverted duplication on chromosome 5q13. This duplicated region contains at least four genes and repetitive elements which make it prone to rearrangements and deletions. The repetitiveness and complexity of the sequence have also caused difficulty in determining the organization of this genomic region. This gene is within the telomeric copy of the duplication. Deletion of this gene sometimes accompanies deletion of the neighboring SMN1 gene in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) patients but it is unclear if deletion of this gene contributes to the SMA phenotype. This gene encodes the 44 kDa subunit of RNA polymerase II transcription initiation factor IIH which is involved in basal transcription and nucleotide excision repair. Transcript variants for this gene have been described, but their full length nature has not been determined. A second copy of this gene within the centromeric copy of the duplication has been described in the literature. It is reported to be different by either two or four base pairs; however, no sequence data is currently available for the centromeric copy of the gene.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a protein of 12 kDa, identified asβ2-microglobulin.β2-microglobulin non-covalently associates with the 44 kDa chain to form the HLA Class I antigen complex. Human β2-microglobulin associated with HLA Class I antigens is expressed on many types of cells including lymphocytes, thymocytes, monocytes, granulocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and epithelial cells. It is absent on erythrocytes. This MAb is specific to human β2-microglobulin and does not react with non-human primate cells. This antibody reacts with all cell types excluding erythrocytes. The detection of β2-microglobulin in body fluids has been used as a tumor marker and for monitoring patients with HIV infection. Clone 246 E9.E7 is the same as HLA.ABC.m2.

Description:
The mouse monoclonal antibody recognizes CD1b, a 44 kDa type I glycoprotein associated with beta2-microglobulin. It is expressed on dendritic cells, Langerhans cells, thymocytes, and T acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells. The CD1 multigene family encodes five forms of the CD1 T-cell surface glycoprotein in human, designated CD1A, 1B, 1C, 1D and 1E. CD1, a type 1 membrane protein, has structural similarity to the MHC class I antigen and has been shown to present lipid antigens for recognition by T lymphocytes. Constitutive endocytosis of CD1B molecules and the differential sorting of MHC class II from lysosomes separate peptide- and lipid antigen-presenting molecules during dendritic cell maturation. CD1B is also expressed in interdigitating cells.

Description:
Sodium phosphate is a reagent with very high buffering capacity that is widely used in molecular biology, biochemistry, and chromatography. Sodium phosphate occurs in several forms: monobasic (NaH2PO4), dibasic (Na2HPO4), and tribasic (Na3PO4). Most neutral sodium phosphate buffer solutions consist of mixtures of the monobasic and dibasic forms to varying degrees, depending on the desired pH.
Sodium phosphate monobasic, Monohydrate is used as sequestrant, emulsifier and buffer in foods; as mordant in dyeing; for weighting silk in tanning; in manufacture of enamels, ceramics, detergents, boiler compounds; as fireproofing agent; in soldering and brazing instead of borax; as reagent and buffer in analytical chemistry; cathartic; laxative. A table for preparation of 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer at 25 °C using various proportions of sodium phosphate monobasic and sodium phosphate dibasic has been published. A study of the effect of freeze-thaw storage cycles on proteins in sodium phosphate and potassium phosphate buffer solutions has been reported. The effect of 5 mM sodium phosphate on the efficacy of electrospray ionization (ESI) ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) analysis has been evaluated. A protocol for the purification of pyrogen-free mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibodies which uses 10 mM sodium phosphate (pH 7.4) has been published. An ion-pairing HPLC method for the analysis of 5-aminosalicylic acid has been reported. A TLC method for separation of nucleotide sugars in the study of glycosyltransferase activity has been published. Room Temperature, Desiccate

Description:
CD95, also known as FAS or APO-1, is a 36 kDa cell surface type I- membrane glycoprotein with an apparent molecular weight of 44 kDa on SDS-PAGE. CD95 is a member of the TNF receptor family, which includes TNFR-1, TNFR-2, CD27, CD30 and CD40. Binding of CD95 Ligand to CD95 or crosslinking of CD95 by anti-CD95 monoclonal antibodies leads to apoptosis of CD95 expressing cells. CD95 belongs to a subgroup of family members that have a death domain (DD) which contains 70 amino acids near the carboxyl-terminal region of the molecule. The binding of adaptor molecules to this DD is responsible for transmitting the death signal for apoptosis. Stimulation of CD95 results in aggregation of its DD, leading to the recruitment of FADD and caspase-8 that together with the receptor form the death-inducing signaling complex (DISC).

Estimate stream quality as it relates to solids in the water.<BR><BR>This Turbidity Tube is made from 1-3/4" (4.4 cm) clear polycarbonate tubing and is marked with easy to read black numbers on a white tape; tape is marked in centimeters. A drain tube with a crimp are supplied so the sample can be drained off until the Secchi pattern on the bottom just appears. The height of the water column is then recorded. Overall length of the tube is 24" (61 cm).<BR><BR>The optional Transparency Tube (item #67311-46) allow you to measure turbidity in streams where a secchi disk can't be used--simply fill the tube with water and look down. Each clear polycarbonate tube features a centimeter scale on one side and a secchi disk design, 2" (4.5 cm) in diameter, on the bottom. The secchi design is screwed to a rubber stopper that removes for cleaning. Drain the tube with the drain hose and attached finger crimp. Ideal for the GLOBE program!
