Description:
2,2'-Azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic Acid) Solution is oxidized to a radical action showing absorption maxima at 820 nm, 734 nm, 650 nm and 405 nm, in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and HRP. The latter frequency demonstrates a significant molar extinction coefficient and is generally employed for most ABTS assays. Stopping the reaction with acid does not alter the 405 nm spectrum allowing kinetic and endpoint methods to be measured at the same wavelength. Provided as a room temperature stable, single component ABTS solution satisfactory for quantitative analysis of HRP based systems.

Description:
Catalyzes the release of fatty acids from phospholipids. It has been implicated in normal phospholipid remodeling, nitric oxide-induced or vasopressin-induced arachidonic acid release and in leukotriene and prostaglandin production. May participate in fas mediated apoptosis and in regulating transmembrane ion flux in glucose-stimulated B-cells. Has a role in cardiolipin (CL) deacylation. Required for both speed and directionality of monocyte MCP1/CCL2-induced chemotaxis through regulation of F-actin polymerization at the pseudopods. Isoform ankyrin-iPLA2-1 and isoform ankyrin-iPLA2-2, which lack the catalytic domain, are probably involved in the negative regulation of iPLA2 activity.

Description:
SCARA5 Antibody: Scavenger receptor class A member 5 (SCARA5), also known as TESR, is part of the scavenger receptor superfamily, which is composed of many members with diverse structures, expression patterns, and functions. SCARA5 is a cell-surface receptor that contains the collagen-like domain and N-terminal scavenger receptor cysteine rich domain typical of the class A scavenger receptor subfamily. Unlike other class A receptors, SCARA5 does not endocytose acetylated or oxidized low density lipoprotein. Instead, SCARA5 binds serum ferritin and mediates its endocytosis from the cell surface, indicating SCARA5 may play a role in non-transferrin iron delivery.

Description:
Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) is a heme enzyme that initiates the oxidative degradation of the least abundant, essential amino acid, l-tryptophan, along the kynurenine pathway. This protein is normally expressed in the dendritic cells, macrophages, microglia, eosinophils, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and most tumor cells. IDO activity is associated with immunosuppression and immune attenuation. Several studies showed that IDO can contribute to immune escape when expressed directly in tumor cells or when expressed in immunosuppressive antigen presenting cells such as tolerogenic dendritic cells or tumor associated macrophages. IDO also is a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of cancer, chronic viral infections, and other diseases characterized by pathological immune suppression.

Description:
Recognises the alpha subunit of tubulin, specifically binding to so called Tyr-Tubulin, which is produced by post translational modification of tubulin. The epitope recognised by this antibody has been extensively studied and would appear to be a linear sequence requiring an aromatic residue at the C terminus, with the two adjacent amino acids being negatively charged (represented by Gly-Gly-Tyr in Tyr-Tubulin). The antibody has been used in epitope tagging procedures to detect proteins tagged with a C-terminal Gly-Gly-Phe epitope. These sequence requirements have been reported to result in some cross-reactivity with other proteins in certain circumstances, including E. Coli rec A and oxidized actin.

Description:
Two HSFs have been identified in human cells, HSF 1 and HSF 2, which bind to the same HSEs and have 38% sequence identity. These factors are activated by distinct stimuli, HSF 1 is responsive to classical stress signals such as heat, heavy metals and oxidative reagents, whereas HSF 2 is activated during hemin-mediated differentiation of human erythroleukemia cells.HSF 1 exists constitutively in the cytoplasm and the nucleus of unstressed cells as a monomer which lacks DNA binding activity. Through an unknown signal generated during stress, HSF 1 becomes activated to a nuclear localized, trimeric state which binds to DNA. The phosphorylation of HSF 1 is necessary for maximal transcription of heat shock genes.

Description:
Nuclear receptor that binds peroxisome proliferators such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids. Once activated by a ligand, the nuclear receptor binds to DNA specific PPAR response elements (PPRE) and modulates the transcription of its target genes, such as acyl-CoA oxidase. It therefore controls the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. Key regulator of adipocyte differentiation and glucose homeostasis. ARF6 acts as a key regulator of the tissue-specific adipocyte P2 (aP2) enhancer. Acts as a critical regulator of gut homeostasis by suppressing NF-kappa-B-mediated proinflammatory responses. Plays a role in the regulation of cardiovascular circadian rhythms by regulating the transcription of ARNTL/BMAL1 in the blood vessels (By similarity).

Description:
This antibody recognizes a cluster of proteins between 70-80 kDa, identified as tyrosinase. Occasionally a minor band at 55 kDa is also detected. This MAb shows no cross-reaction with MAGE-1 and tyrosinase-related protein 1, TRP-1/gp75. Tyrosinase is a copper-containing metalloglycoprotein that catalyzes several steps in the melanin pigment biosynthetic pathway; the hydroxylation of tyrosine to L-3,4-dihydroxy-phenylalanine (dopa), and the subsequent oxidation of dopa to dopaquinone. Mutations of the tyrosinase gene occur in various forms of albinism. Tyrosinase is one of the targets for cytotoxic T-cell recognition in melanoma patients. Staining of melanomas with this MAb shows tyrosinase in melanotic as well as amelanotic variants. This MAb is a useful marker for melanocytes and melanomas.
