Description:
This antibody reacts with the TGF alpha and shows no cross-reaction with EGF and the neuropeptide synenkephalin. The staining with this MAb is completely blocked by the peptide used for raising this antibody. TGF alpha (aa50) is a growth factor with 33% homology to EGF, binds to EGFR, activates tyrosine phosphorylation of the receptor, and stimulates cell proliferation. It plays a role in tumor initiation by inducing the reversible transformed phenotype.
CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®405S is a blue fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 404/431 nm) with superior brightness compared to other blue dyes; it is also compatible with super-resolution imaging by SIM. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.

Description:
Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 (BST1) is a pleiotropic ectoenzyme which belongs to the CD38 family and to the growing number of leukocyte surface molecules known to act independently as both receptors and enzymes. The BST1 molecule displays two distinct domains in its extracellular component. The first is implicated in the enzymic activities of the molecule (it synthesizes cyclic ADP-ribose, a second messenger that elicits calcium release from intracellular stores) and the second domain has adhesion/signalling properties.Bone marrow stromal cell antigen 1 facilitates pre-B-cell growth. The deduced amino acid sequence exhibits 33% similarity with CD38. BST1 expression is enhanced in bone marrow stromal cell lines derived from patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The polyclonal B-cell abnormalities in rheumatoid arthritis may be, at least in part, attributed to BST1 overexpression in the stromal cell population.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a protein of 33-55 kDa, identified as CD53 (Workshop VI; Code N-L033). It is expressed on monocytes and macrophages, dendritic cells, osteoblasts and osteoclasts, and on T and B cells from every stage of differentiation but is absent from platelets, red blood cells. CD53 appears to be the marker with widest reactivity as well as the marker with the strictest specificity to hematopoietic cells. CD53 is a type III membrane with both termini in the cytoplasm and two loops in the extracellular environment. This molecule, in common with other members of tetraspan family, is involved in cellular activation as part of a signal transduction complex involving other membrane glycoproteins. CD53 crosslinking induces calcium flux on human monocyte and B cells. Cross-linking of CD53 promotes activation of resting human B-lymphocytes. This MAb This antibody recognizes CD53 transfected cells and partially inhibits T-cell proliferation induced by CD3 antibody (clone: UCHT1).

Description:
Inhibitor of pan-Trk activity (IC(50) = 8 and 12nM for TrkA and TrkB). Shown to target Trk (tropomyosin receptor kinase) ATP binding cleft and an immediately adjacent hydrophobic pocket. Preferentially arrests the proliferation of Ba/F3 cells fused with Tel-TrkA, Tel-TrkB and Tel-TrkC (IC(50) = 11, 9 and 7nM, respectively) and in Ba/F3 and RIE cells expressing both TrkA and NGF (IC(50) = 42 and 17nM, respectively) over Mo7e-c-Kit and Rat-A10-PDGFR (IC(50) = 1 and 0.5µM) and Ba/F3-Tel-KDR and wt-Ba/F3 cells (IC(50) = 3.0 and 5.6µM). Displays ~100-fold greater selectivity among a panel of 59 closely related kinases and in 33 cellular kinase assays. Weakly active against relevant cytochrome P450 isozymes and hERG channel, and exhibit adequate microsomal stability, pharmacokinetic profile and efficacy in mice and rats. Suppresses tumor growth in a mouse RIE-TrkAmNGF xenograft model (50mg/kg, p.o.).

Description:
This fluorescent (FRET) peptide substrate contains the wild-type amyloid precursor protein (APP) β-secretase cleavage site. Mca-SEVKMDAEFRK(Dnp)RR- amide has been used for assaying β-secretase-like activity of thimet oligopeptidase (TOP, EC 3.4.24.15). The results suggested that TOP is a potential β-secretase candidate and is involved in the processing of APP in vivo. See also L-1905.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a protein of 33-55 kDa, identified as CD53 (Workshop V; Code CD53.1). CD53 is expressed on monocytes, and macrophages, granulocytes, dendritic cells, osteoblasts and osteoclasts, NK cells, and on T- and B-cells from every stage of differentiation but is absent from platelets, erythrocytes, and non-haemopoietic cells. CD53 is a member of a family of tetraspan transmembrane proteins, including CD9, CD37, CD63, CD81, and CD82. It associates with integrins, MHC class II molecules, and a tyrosine phosphatase and plays a role in cellular activation as part of a signal transduction complex involving other membrane glycoproteins. Defects of CD53 expression on neutrophils appear to be related with recurrent infectious diseases. Cross-linking CD53 using CD53 antibodies led to cytoplasmic calcium fluxes in B cells, monocytes, and granulocytes and activation of the monocyte oxidative burst.
