Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Members of the Id family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins include Id1 (1–3), Id2 (4), Id3 and Id4 (5). They are ubiquitously expressed and dimerize with members of the class A and B HLH proteins (1–5). Due to the absence of the basic region, the resulting heterodimers cannot bind DNA. The Id-type proteins thus appear to negatively regulate DNA binding of bHLH proteins. Since Id1 inhibits DNA binding of E12 and Myo D, it apparently functions to inhibit muscle-specific gene expression. Under conditions that facilitate muscle cell differentiation, the Id protein levels fall, allowing E12 and/or E47 to form heterodimers with Myo D and myogenin, which in turn activate myogenic differentiation. It has been shown that expression of each of the Id proteins is strongly dependent on growth factor activation and that reduction of Id mRNA levels by antisense oligonucleotides leads to a delayed reentry of arrested cells into the cell cycle following growth factor stimulation.

Description:   This gene is a member of the beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase (beta3GalT) gene family. This family encodes type II membrane-bound glycoproteins with diverse enzymatic functions using different donor substrates (UDP-galactose and UDP-N-acetylglucosamine) and different acceptor sugars (N-acetylglucosamine, galactose, N-acetylgalactosamine). The beta3GalT genes are distantly related to the Drosophila Brainiac gene and have the protein coding sequence contained in a single exon. The beta3GalT proteins also contain conserved sequences not found in the beta4GalT or alpha3GalT proteins. The carbohydrate chains synthesized by these enzymes are designated as type 1, whereas beta4GalT enzymes synthesize type 2 carbohydrate chains. The ratio of type 1:type 2 chains changes during embryogenesis. By sequence similarity, the beta3GalT genes fall into at least two groups: beta3GalT4 and 4 other beta3GalT genes (beta3GalT1-3, beta3GalT5). The encoded protein of this gene does not use N-acetylglucosamine as an acceptor sugar at all. Multiple transcript variants that are alternatively spliced in the 5' UTR have been described; they all encode the same protein.

Description:   Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments of epithelial cells, both in keratinizing tissue (ie., skin) and non-keratinizing cells (ie., mesothelial cells). Although not a traditional marker for endothelial cells, cytokeratins have also been found in some microvascular endothelial cells. Atleast 20 different cytokeratins (CK) in the molecular range of 40-70 kDa and isoelectric points of 5-8.5 can be identified using two dimensional gel electrophoresis.Biochemically, most members of the CK family fall into one of two classes, type I (acidic polypeptides) and type II (basic polypeptides). At least one member of the acidic family and one member of the basic family is expressed in all epithelial cells.Monoclonal antibodies to cytokeratin proteins can be useful markers for tumor identification and classification. Belonging to the type A (acidic) subfamily of low molecular weight keratins and existing in combination with keratin 5, keratin 14 distinguishes stratified epithelial cells from simple epithelial cells and is useful in identification of squamous cell carcinomas. It is considered a prognostic marker in breast carcinomas.

Supplier:  INTERNATIONAL VIDEO & ELECTRONICS
Description:   The International DS-1500 Diamond Series 1500 Watt Type 3 Voltage Converters provide the best performance in our line of Voltage transformers. With an extra durable lifetime coil and the ability to convert 110 volts to 220 volts and 220 volts to 110 volts, these voltage converters have been tested to the highest level of material and workmanship standards. Flawless electrical connections that meet U.S Military specifications are accomplished by professional hand soldering. The price of copper continues to rise almost daily, putting a strain on the electronics industry. In an attempt to try and produce a lighter weight and more efficient voltage transformer, there are companies that use less copper in their products which only gives the consumer a much lower quality product. Att 220 Electronics we believe in the Golden Rule of Voltage Converters. Depending on the wattage rating of your appliance, always use a transformer rated 2 to 3 times higher. Washing machines, microwave ovens and food processors fall into the category of appliances that will work with this voltage converter. If you are going overseas or coming to America anytime soon, make the best choice and purchase one of these voltage converts today.

Cytokeratin 18 is an acidic keratin which is found primarily in non-squamous epithelia and is present in a majority of adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas but not in squamous cell carcinomas. Cytokeratin 18 exists in combination with Cytokeratin 8, a basic keratin. Hepatocellular carcinomas have been reportedly defined by the use of antibodies that recognize only Cytokeratins 8 and 18.
