Description:
Regulates voltage-gated potassium channels assembled from KCNA1, KCNA4 and KCNAB1. It slows down channel inactivation by precluding channel closure mediated by the KCNAB1 subunit. Ligand for ADAM22 that positively regulates synaptic transmission mediated by AMPA-type glutamate receptors (By similarity). Plays a role in suppressing the production of MMP1/3 through the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/ERK pathway. May play a role in the control of neuroblastoma cell survival.

Description:
Reaction of 4-bromoaniline with acetic acid and potassium thiocynate in solution of bromine in acetic acid yields 2-amino-6-bromobenzothiazole. 2-Amino-6-bromobenzothiazole can also be synthesized from 2-aminobenzothiazole via monobromination with silica-supported quinolinium tribromide.
Application:2-Amino-6-bromobenzothiazole may be used in the synthesis of the following2-amino-6-arylbenzothiazole compounds:6-p-tolylbenzo[d]thiazole-2-amine6-(4chlorophenyl)benzo[d]thiazole-2-amine6-(4-methoxyphenyl)benzo[d]thiazole-2-amine6-(3,5-bis(triflouromethyl)phenyl)benzo[d]thiazole-2-amine6-phenylbenzo[d]thiazole-2-amine

Description:
K+ channels are divided into three subclasses reflecting the number of transmembrane segments (TMS), which are designated 6TMS, 4TMS and 2TMS. Members of the 4TMS class contain two distinct pore regions and include TWIK, TREK, TRAAK and TASK. TASK channels are highly sensitive to external pH in the physiological range. TASK-1 is expressed in brain and in rat heart, with high levels of expression in the right atrium. TASK-2, mainly expressed in kidney, is localized in cortical distal tubules and collecting ducts, suggesting a role in renal K+ transport. TASK-3 from rat cerebellum shares 54% identity with TASK-1, but less than 30% identity with TASK-2 and other tandem pore K+ channels. Anti-TASK1 Potassium Channel Antibody is ideal for research in Neuroscience, particularly studies concerning the dopaminergic neuron and melatonin signaling.

Description:
One gap junction consists of a cluster of closely packed pairs of transmembrane channels, the connexons, through which materials of low MW diffuse from one cell to a neighboring cell. May play a critical role in the physiology of hearing by participating in the recycling of potassium to the cochlear endolymph.

Description:
Receptor for both mineralocorticoids (MC) such as aldosterone and glucocorticoids (GC) such as corticosterone or cortisol. Binds to mineralocorticoid response elements (MRE) and transactivates target genes. The effect of MC is to increase ion and water transport and thus raise extracellular fluid volume and blood pressure and lower potassium levels.

Description:
This gene encodes a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family. It heteromultimerizes with another MAGUK protein, DLG2, and is recruited into NMDA receptor and potassium channel clusters. These two MAGUK proteins may interact at postsynaptic sites to form a multimeric scaffold for the clustering of receptors, ion channels, and associated signaling proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).

Description:
The sodium-potassium-chloride cotransporter isoform 2 is kidney-specific and is found on the apical membrane of the thick ascending limb of Henle's loop and the macula densa. It accounts for most of the NaCl resorption with the stoichiometry of 1Na:1K:2Cl and is sensitive to such diuretics as furosemide and bumetanide. Some Bartter-like syndromes result from defects in this gene.

Description:
The muscarinic acetylcholine receptor mediates various cellular responses, including inhibition of adenylate cyclase, breakdown of phosphoinositides and modulation of potassium channels through the action of G proteins. Primary transducing effect is adenylate cyclase inhibition. Signaling promotes phospholipase C activity, leading to the release of inositol trisphosphate (IP3); this then triggers calcium ion release into the cytosol.
