Spectrum Chemicals
Description:
Cupric Sulfate, Pentahydrate, BiotechGrade also known as Copper(II) Sulfate is a chemical compound that exists as a salt or crystal and differs in the degree of hydration. It uses very from use as a herbicide to use as a dye. It is also used in Benedict's solution, Fehling's solution and Biuret reagent. Spectrum offers highly pure reagents suitable for biochemical research and analysis. The critical parameters involved are absence of inhibitors such as traces of heavy metals as well as biochemical function tests for enzymes, coenzymes and enzyme substrates.

Bioss
Description:
The family of voltage-dependent chloride channels (CLCs) regulate cellular trafficking of chloride ions, a critical component of all living cells. CLCs regulate excitability in muscle and nerve cells, aid in organic solute transport and maintain cellular volume. The genes encoding human CLC-1 through CLC-7 map to chromosomes 7q32, 3q28, 4q32, Xp22.3, Xp11.23-p11.22, 1p36 and 16p13, respectively. CLC1 is highly expressed in skeletal muscle. Mutations in the gene encoding CLC1 lead to myotonia, an inheritable disorder characterized by muscle stiffness and renal salt wasting. CLC2 is highly expressed in the epithelia of several organs including lung, which suggests CLC2 may be a possible therapeutic target for cystic fibrosis. CLC3 expression is particularly abundant in neuronal tissue, while CLC4 expression is evident in skeletal and cardiac muscle as well as brain. Mutations in the gene encoding CLC5 lead to Dent’s disease, a renal disorder characterized by proteinuria and hypercalciuria. CLC6 and CLC7 are broadly expressed in several tissues including testis, kidney, brain and muscle.

Rockland Immunochemical
Description:
Rockland produces highly active antibodies and conjugates to collagens. Collagens are highly conserved throughout evolution and are characterized by an uninterrupted ''Glycine-X-Y'' triplet repeat that is a necessary part of the triple helical structure. For these reasons, it is often extremely difficult to generate antibodies with specificities to collagens. The development of ‘type’ specific antibodies is dependent on NON-DENATURED three-dimensional epitopes. Rockland extensively purifies collagens for immunization from human and bovine placenta and cartilage by limited pepsin digestion and selective salt precipitation. This preparation results in a native conformation of the protein. Antibodies are isolated from rabbit antiserum and are extensively cross-adsorbed by immunoaffinity purification to produce 'type' specific antibodies. Greatly diminished reactivity and selectivity of these antibodies will result if denaturing and reducing conditions are used for SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting. Ideal for investigators involved in Cell Biology, Signal Transduction and Stem Cell research.
