Catalog Number: (75933-862)

Supplier:  Rockland Immunochemical
Description:   Anti-Maltose Phosphorylase recognizes the protein maltose phosphorylase which belongs to the glycosyltransferases family. Maltose phosphorylase catalyzes the reaction in which maltose and inorganic phosphate are converted to D-glucose and beta-D-glucose 1-phosphate.

Description:   FGF-23 is a secreted, nonglycosylated monomeric protein belonging to the FGF family. Full-lenght FGF-23 is a phosphaturic hormone which blocks neural phosphate reabsorbtion. Upon processing, biologically inactive N- and C- terminal fragments are generated. Defects in FGF-23 is associated with autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets. The FGF-23 gene encodes a member of the fibroblast growth factor family that is mutant in autosomal dominant hypophosphatemic rickets (ADHR). Tumor-induced osteomalacia is one of the paraneoplastic disorders characterized by hypophosphatemia caused by renal phosphate wasting. The fact that removal of responsible tumors normalizes phosphate metabolism is evidence that a humoral phosphaturic factor, sometimes called phosphatonin, is the basis of tumor-induced osteomalacia. Thus, overproduction of FGF-23 causes tumor-induced osteomalacia, whereas mutations in the FGF-23 gene result in autosomal hypophosphatemic rickets possibly by preventing proteolytic cleavage, which enhances the biologic activity of FGF-23. The mutations in FGF-23 found in ADHR lie within 3 nucleotides of each other in the proprotein convertase cleavage site. Jonsson et al. (2003) showed that FGF-23 is readily detectable in the plasma or serum of healthy persons and can be markedly elevated in those with oncogenic osteomalacia or X-linked hypophosphatemia, suggesting that this growth factor has a role in phosphate homeostasis.

Supplier:  Proteintech
Description:   ENTPD8, also named as UNQ2492 and PRO5779, belongs to the GDA1/CD39 NTPase family. ENTPD8 is a canalicular ectonucleoside NTPDase which responsible for the main hepatic NTPDase activity. Ectonucleoside NTPDases catalyze the hydrolyzis of gamma- and beta-phosphate residues of nucleotides, playing a central role in concentration of extracellular nucleotides. Has activity toward ATP, ADP, UTP and UDP, but not toward AMP. ENTPD8 catalyze the reaction :ATP + 2 H2O = AMP + 2 phosphate.
Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Transaldolase 1 is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway providing ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and NADPH for lipid biosynthesis. This pathway can also maintain glutathione at a reduced state and thus protect sulfhydryl groups and cellular integrity from oxygen radicals. The functional gene of transaldolase 1 is located on chromosome 11 and a pseudogene is identified on chromosome 1 but there are conflicting map locations. The second and third exon of this gene were developed by insertion of a retrotransposable element. This gene is thought to be involved in multiple sclerosis.

Description:   Chromogranins (secretogranins) are acidic glycoproteins that localize within secretory granules of endocrine, neuroendocrine and neuronal tissue. Family members include chromogranin A (Chr-A); chromogranin B (Chr-B), also known as secretogranin I; chromogranin C (also known as secretogranin II or Sg II); and secretogranin III (Sg III or SCG3). High levels of Chr-A expression are characteristic of neuroendocrine tumors. Pancreastatin is a peptide derived from Chr-A which inhibits insulin secretion, exocrine pancreatic secretion and gastric acid secretion. Pancreastatin exists as two forms; the major form is expressed in stomach and colon extracts. In neuroendocrine cells the level Sg II has been shown to increase four-fold in response to histamine, while levels of Chr-A and Chr-B showed little or no increase. Sg III is an acidic secretory protein expressed in neuronal and endocrine cells. In the anterior lobe of the rat pituitary gland, Sg III is present in mammotropes and thyrotropes, moderately in gonadotropes and corticotropes, though not in somatotropes. Sg III and carboxypeptidase E (CPE) bind specifically to cholesterol-rich secretory granule (SG) membranes.

Description:   GMPPB is a GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase. This enzyme catalyzes the reaction which converts mannose-1-phosphate and GTP to GDP-mannose which is involved in the production of N-linked oligosaccharides. This gene is thought to encode a GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase. This enzyme catalyzes the reaction which converts mannose-1-phosphate and GTP to GDP-mannose which is involved in the production of N-linked oligosaccharides. The gene encodes two transcript variants.

Description:   Deoxyribonuclease from beef pancreas, DNase I, was first crystallized by Kunitz. It is an endonuclease which splits phosphodiester linkages, preferentially adjacent to a pyrimidine nucleotide yielding 5'-phosphate terminated polynucleotides with a free hydroxyl group on position 3'. The average chain of limit digest is a tetranucleotide. DNase I acts upon single chain DNA, and upon double-stranded DNA and chromatin.
