Description:   The Slc37 gene family consists of four members which have 10-12 predicted transmembrane domains and belong to the sugar-phosphate transporter superfamily. Recent experiments have demonstrated that Slc37A2 is a macrophage-specific gene selectively expressed in obese white adipose tissue. Its transcript is also expressed in spleen and thymus and the cell lines RAW264.7 and THP-1. Compared to wild-type mice, Slc37A2 mRNA is expressed at nine-fold higher levels in abdominal epididymal fat deposits of ob/ob mice, suggesting that it may be required to limit the contribution of macrophages to the inflammatory state present in obesity. Slc37A2 protein is post-translationally modified with the addition of N-linked glycans and migrates as a heterogeneous species of 50-75kDa.

Description:   This product has been assayed against 1.0 µg of Rat IgA in a standard capture ELISA using pNPP p-nitrophenyl phosphate as a substrate for 30 minutes at room temperature.  A working dilution of 1:2,000 to 1:8,000 is suggested for this product.

Description:   Neurexins comprise a family of neuronal cell surface proteins, which include neurexin I (NRXN1), neurexin II (NRXN2), neurexin III (NRXN3) and Caspr (neurexin IV). Neurexins I-III are expressed as a and b isoforms. The a isoforms are made of three cassettes, which contain two LNS (Laminin A, Neurexins, Sex hormone-binding)-domains separated by EGF domains, followed by a transmembrane region and a 55 amino acid cytoplasmic C-terminal. The a isoforms bind to neurexophilins at the second LNS site and to the excitatory neurotoxin a-latrotoxin. The b isoforms have only one LNS-domain, bind to neuroligins, and play a role in the formation and remodeling of synapes. Caspr (for Contactin-Associated Protein 1, also designated Paranodin in mouse), contains an extracellular domain similar to the other three neurexins, and binds to the surface glycoprotein Contactin. Caspr and the closely related Caspr2, a mammalian homolog of Drosophila Neurexin IV (Nrx-IV), demarcate distinct subdomains in myelinated axons. Specifically, Caspr exists at the paranodal junctions, while Caspr2 colocalizes with Shaker-like K+ channels in the juxtaparanodal region. Caspr may play a role in the communication of glial cells and neurons during development.

Description:   A cluster of genes, BAT1-BAT5, has been localized in the vicinity of the genes for TNF alpha and TNF beta. These genes are all within the human major histocompatibility complex class III region. The protein encoded by this gene is thought to be involved in some aspects of immunity.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   CDC25B is a member of the CDC25 family of phosphatases. CDC25B activates the cyclin dependent kinase CDC2 by removing two phosphate groups and it is required for entry into mitosis. CDC25B shuttles between the nucleus and the cytoplasm due to nuclear localization and nuclear export signals. The protein is nuclear in the M and G1 phases of the cell cycle and moves to the cytoplasm during S and G2. CDC25B has oncogenic properties, although its role in tumor formation has not been determined.

Description:   N-Oct-3 (POU3F2) is a protein belonging to a large family of transcription factors that bind to the octameric DNA sequence ATGCAAAT. Most of these proteins share a highly homologous region, referred to as the POU domain, which occurs in several mammalian transcription factors, including the octamer-binding proteins Oct1 (POU2F1) and Oct2 (POU2F2), and the pituitary protein Pit1 (PIT1). Class III POU genes are expressed predominantly in the CNS. It is likely that CNS-specific transcription factors such as these play an important role in mammalian neurogenesis by regulating their diverse patterns of gene expression.N-Oct-3 is a protein belonging to a large family of transcription factors that bind to the octameric DNA sequence ATGCAAAT. Description:   Protein which catalyzes the phosphorylation of serine or threonine residues on target proteins by using ATP as phosphate donor. Such phosphorylation may cause changes in the function of the target protein. Protein kinases share a conserved catalytic core common to both serine/ threonine and tyrosine protein kinases.

Description:   L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. The metabotropic glutamate receptors are a family of G protein-coupled receptors, that have been divided into 3 groups on the basis of sequence homology, putative signal transduction mechanisms, and pharmacologic properties. GRM6 is part of Group III which is linked to the inhibition of the cyclic AMP cascade.
Supplier:  Biotium
Description:   CD16 (Clone 3G8) is a mouse monoclonal antibody that recognizes IgG receptor CD16, also known as FC gamma receptor III. This antibody belongs to the Biotium Choice list of select antibodies that have been validated and optimized in-house for optimal performance. The antibody is available conjugated to CF® Dyes and Astralâ„¢ tandem dyes. They are supplied in PBS, 0.1% BSA, 0.05% azide.

Supplier:  Genetex
Description:   CD16 is a cell surface molecule which exists in two forms - a transmembranous form expressed by NK cells and some T cells and a phosphatidylinositol linked form expressed by granulocytes. CD16 is a low affinity receptor for IgG (FcR III), and is an important receptor mediating ADCC by NK cells.

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Synthesizes the second messagers cyclic ADP-ribose and nicotinate-adenine dinucleotide phosphate, the former a second messenger for glucose-induced insulin secretion. Also has cADPr hydrolase activity. Also moonlights as a receptor in cells of the immune system.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   Roundabout homolog 4(ROBO4) contains 2 fibronectin type-III domains, 2 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. The protein is a receptor for slit proteins, at least for SLIT2, and seems to be involved in angiogenesis and vascular patterning. ROBO4 may mediate the inhibition of primary endothelial cell migration by Slit proteins.

Supplier:  Rockland Immunochemical
Description:   BCIP/NBT Membrane Alkaline Phosphatase Substrate is an artificially manufactured chromogenic substrate for use in sensitive colorimetric assays. Alkaline phosphatase hydrolyzes the BCIP to 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indole, which is oxidized by oxygen in the atmosphere, yielding a blue dye. In the presence of NBT, an insoluble dark blue precipitate is formed after a reduction reaction instead.
