Ionic+Strength+Adjustment+Buffers
Supplier:
Adipogen
Description:
Non-ionic water-soluble detergent with nondenaturing properties. Transparent in the UV region. Relatively high critical micelle concentration (CMC) value (79mM/l). Ideal for studying the conformation and function of proteins, keeping the secondary and tertiary structure intact, therefore suited for solubilizing membrane proteins without altering biological activity. Efficiently separates hydrophilic proteins from membrane spanning, hydrophobic proteins. Ideal for use as membrane protein solubilizer.

Description:
Protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) is essential for cell division, and participates in the regulation of glycogen metabolism, muscle contractility and protein synthesis. The protein is involved in regulation of ionic conductances and long term synaptic plasticity. It may play an important role in dephosphorylating substrates such as the postsynaptic density associated Ca (2+)/calmodulin dependent protein kinase II.PP1 comprises a catalytic subunit, PPP1CA, PPP1CB or PPP1CC (PP1C gamma), which is folded into its native form by inhibitor 2 and glycogen synthetase kinase 3, and then complexed to one or several targeting or regulatory subunits. PPP1R12A and PPP1R12B mediate binding to myosin. PPP1R3A, PPP1R3B, PPP1R3C and PPP1R3D mediate binding to glycogen.

Description:
CAPS1 is a 189 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that contains four EF-hand domains, which serve as calcium-binding sites, and was first identified in canine thyroid. Interestingly, CAPS1 is much less abundant in humans than in canines. Synthesis and phosphorylation of CAPS1 is upregulated by cAMP-agonists in thyrocytes. CAPS1 likely functions in the regulation of ionic transport and may be involved in cross-signaling between cAMP and Ca(+2)-phophatidylinositol cascades. In addition to thyriod, CAPS1 is expressed in brain, salivary glands and lung. Expression of CAPS1 is increased in endometrial cancer and prognosis seems to be dependent on the level of CAPS1 expression, indicating that CAPS1 may be an appropriate prognostic marker for patient survival.

Description:
This is a Pannexin-1 (Panx1) mimetic blocking peptide. Pannexin-1 is a recently identified membrane protein that can form gap junction-like connections allowing intercellular passage of dyes when overexpressed in two adjacent oocytes or mammalian epithelial cell lines. Blockade of pannexin-1 in macrophage endogenously expressing the ATP-gated P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) blocks the initial dye uptake, but not the ionic current, and also blocks processing and release of interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta) in response to P2X7R activation.

Description:
PIST (PDZ protein interacting specifically with TC10), also known as GOPC (golgi associated PDZ and coiled-coil motif containing), CAL or FIG, is a 462 amino acid protein that localizes to the cytoplasm, as well as to the membrane of the golgi apparatus and to the cell junction. Expressed ubiquitously and containing one PDZ (DHR) domain, PIST functions as a homooligomer that interacts with a variety of proteins and plays a role in intracellular protein trafficking and degradation. Additionally, PIST is thought to regulate ionic currents via membrane channel modification and may also play a role in autophagy. Chromosomal aberrations in the gene encoding PIST are found in glioblastoma multiform (GBM), a common and aggressive form of brain tumor, suggesting a role for mutated PIST in carcinogenesis. Three isoforms of PIST exist due to alternative splicing events.
