This amino acids 22 to 27 fragment is a modification of the human islet amyloid polypeptide hIAPP (NFGAIL) with N-methylation of the amide bonds at G24 and I26. The introduction of two N-methyl rests in the amyloid-core-containing sequence NFGAIL converts this amyloidogenic and cytotoxic sequence into non-amyloidogenic and non-cytotoxic peptide. The peptide is able to bind with high-affinity full-length hIAPP and to inhibit its fibrillogenesis.

Efficient fluorogenic substrate for two matrix metalloproteinases: interstitial collagenase (MMP-1) and gelatinase (MMP-9). Dnp-Pro-Cha-Gly-Cys(Me)-His-Ala-Lys(N-Me-Abz)-amide has favorable solubility characteristics. Both enzymes cleave this substrate between Gly and Cys(Me) (Smc), liberating a cleavage product with a fluorescence signal suitable for inhibitor screening and determining Ki values. Description:
URB-597 is a potent and selective inhibitor of the enzyme fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH), which is involved in the hydrolysis of endogenous cannabinoids such as anandamide. Inhibition of FAAH may serve to enhance the analgesic effects of endogenous cannabinoids. URB-597 has been shown to inhibit FAAH in rat cortical neuron membranes and in intact neurons with IC50 values of 4.6nM and 0.5nM, respectively. The compound has also been shown to have anxiolytic effects in rats (ID50=0.15mg/kg). Because URB-597 acts on FAAH and does not interfere with the binding of anandamide to the CB1 and CB2 receptors, it is a novel tool for drug development.

PRL2915, Cpa-D-Cys-Pal-D-Trp-Lys-Tle-Cys-Nal-amide, highly potent human somatostatin subtype 2 receptor (hsst2) antagonist with a Ki of 12 nM. Ki values for the other subtypes were >1000 nM for hsst1, 100 ± 57 nM for hsst3, 895 nM for hsst4, and 520 nM for hsst5, respectively. No agonist activity was found when tested alone at concentrations up to 10 µM. In a rat pituitary growth hormone in vitro antagonist assay versus somatostatin-14 (1nM) the somatostatin octapeptide analog PRL2915 exhibited an IC₅₀ value of 1.8 nM.
