Description:
Reduces all-trans-retinal and 9-cis retinal. Can also catalyze the oxidation of all-trans-retinol with NADP as co-factor, but with much lower efficiency. Reduces alkyl phenyl ketones and alpha-dicarbonyl compounds with aromatic rings, such as pyrimidine-4-aldehyde, 3-benzoylpyridine, 4-benzoylpyridine, menadione and 4-hexanoylpyridine. Has no activity towards aliphatic aldehydes and ketones.Tissue specificity:Isoform 1 is predominantly expressed in normal cervix (at protein level). Isoform 4 is expressed in some neoplastic cervical tissues, but not in normal cervix (at protein level). Isoform 5 and isoform 6 are expressed in a few neoplastic cervical tissues.

Description:
This gene encodes an epididymal protease inhibitor, which contains both kunitz-type and WAP-type four-disulfide core (WFDC) protease inhibitor consensus sequences. Most WFDC genes are localized to chromosome 20q12-q13 in two clusters: centromeric and telomeric. This gene is a member of the WFDC gene family and belongs to the telomeric cluster. The protein can inhibit human sperm motility, and polymorphisms in this gene are associated with male infertility. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the downstream WFDC6 (WAP four-disulfide core domain 6) gene. [provided by RefSeq].

Description:
Tyrosinase is the key enzyme for melanin, synthesis in mammalian melanocytes and has been considered to be a unique marker for the study of melanocyte differentiation. A cDNA library was constructed from poly(A)+ mRNA from mouse melanocytes and screened using anti- tyrosinase antiserum and oligonucleotide probes corresponding to amino acid sequence of tyrosinase. sequencing of some cDNA clones positive in these screenings gave a nucleotide sequence of 1838 nucleotides including a open reading frame of 1344 nucleotides that was found to correspond exactly to the amino acid sequence of the cyanogen bromide fragments of tyrosinase.

Description:
This gene encodes a protein expressed in tumor cells during apoptosis independent of the apoptosis-inducing stimuli. Prior to apoptosis induction, this gene product is distributed in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Once apoptosis is induced, the level of this protein increases and by relocation from the cytoplasm, it accumulates in the nucleus. Although its exact function is not defined, this protein is thought to play an early and universal role in apoptosis.

Fab fragment antibodies are generated by papain digestion of whole IgG antibodies to remove the entire Fc portion, including the hinge region. These antibodies are monovalent, containing only a single antigen binding site. The molecular weight of Fab fragments is about 50 kDa. Based on antigen-binding assay and/or ELISA, the antibody reacts with whole molecule rat IgG. It also reacts with the light chains of other rat immunoglobulins. No antibody was detected against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. The antibody may cross-react with immunoglobulins from other species.

Description:
Chicken CD28 antigen is a type I transmembrane monomeric glycoprotein which does not contain the cysteine residues that form disulfide-linked covalent homodimers found in the mammalian counterpart. This may reduce the avidity of binding to individual ligand molecules expected to be present on antigen presenting cells. Peripheral γδ+ T cells are CD28 negative. Monoclonal antibodies against CD28 have a costimulatory effect on T cells stimulated by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA), concanavalin A, or monoclonal antibodies against the avian T cell receptor (TCR). Both Vβ1- and Vβ2-expressing cells respond equally well to stimulation with anti-CD28 in combination with PMA. These responses are resistant to cyclosporin A but inhibited by herbimycin A suggesting that CD28 employs a signaling pathway at least partly distinct from that triggered by TCR/CD3. The monoclonal antibody AV7 also reacts with turkey CD28 as demonstrated by flow cytometry.

Description:
The fibrillins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins which occur as a major component of a subset of connective tissue microfibrils. These microfibrils have a beaded appearance and a cross-sectional diameter of 10-12 nm. In elastic tissues, these structures are thought to provide the scaffold onto which elastin is assembled to form elastic fibers, although their function in non-elastic tissues is unclear. There is an aberrant expression of fibrillin in Marfan syndrome. The epitope for the monoclonal antibody 11C1.3 has been found to be within exons 18-20 (a.a. 723-909).

Description:
This gene encodes a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein. The encoded protein is cleaved to its activated form by the thrombin-thrombomodulin complex. This activated form contains a serine protease domain and functions in degradation of the activated forms of coagulation factors V and VIII. Mutations in this gene have been associated with thrombophilia due to protein C deficiency, neonatal purpura fulminans, and recurrent venous thrombosis.[provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009].

Description:
The 2.43 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with mouse CD8 antigen. CD8a (the alpha chains) form heterodimers with CD8b (the beta chains) or homodimers (alpha-alpha), which occur as receptors on the surface of the majority of thymocytes. A subpopulation of mature T lymphocytes expresses the CD8 alpha beta (alpha beta TCR T cells), and a subpopulation of intestinal intraepithelial lymphocytes and dendritic cells express CD8a without CD8b. CD8 interacts with the mouse major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC class I) molecules on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells.

The UCHT1 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with the ε chain of the CD3/T lymphocyte antigen receptor complex. The CD3 complex contains γ, δ, and ε chains, and it is part of the TCR complex, expressed by all mature T lymphocytes and by the thymocyte lineage. CD3 enhances the antigen recognition by signal transduction. Unlike HIT3a, another specific antibody of CD3, the UCHT1 antibody can stain both the surface and intracellular CD3ε. The immobilized UCHT1 can cross-link with the TCR complex, enhancing cellular activation and proliferation.

The 5E10 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with human CD90, also known as thymus cell antigen-1 (Thy-1). CD90 is a 25-37 kDA GPI-anchored protein is the smallest member of the Ig superfamily. CD90 is expressed on thymocytes, neurons, mesenchymal stem cells, hematopoietic stem cells, NK cells, and follicular dendritic cells and plays a role in inflammation, metastasis, apoptosis, and nerve regeneration. The 5E10 antibody can be used for the enriching high proliferative potential colony-forming cells (HIPP-CFC).
