Description:   PLEKHJ1 is a 149 amino acid phosphoprotein that contains one PH (pleckstrin homology) domain and is expressed in testis and liver. The gene that encodes PLEKHJ1 maps to human chromosome 19, which consists of approximately 63 million bases and makes up over 2% of human genomic DNA. Chromosome 19 contains the greatest gene density of the human chromosomes and is the genetic home for a number of immunoglobulin superfamily members, including killer cell and leukocyte Ig-like receptors, ICAMs, the CEACAM and PSG families, and Fc?receptors. Key genes for eye color and hair color also map to chromosome 19. Description:   Ubiquitination is an important mechanism through which three classes of enzymes act in concert to target short-lived or abnormal proteins for destruction. Description:   GPR120, a member of the rhodopsin family of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), is a 377 amino acid protein which is expressed in the intestine. GPR120 is a receptor for unsaturated long-chain FFAs (free fatty acids). FFAs act as signaling molecules and are an important energy source. They also employ various physiological responses through their GPCRs. One such response occurs when dietary FFAs stimulate GPR120. This stimulation promotes the secretion of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) in vivo and in vitro. Description:   DIP2A, also known as DIP2, is a 1571 amino acid nuclear protein. It is one of three human homologs (DIP2A, DIP2B and DIP2C) of the Drosophila dip2 (disconnected-interacting protein 2) protein.
