Description:
Integrin alpha-IIb/beta-3 is a receptor for fibronectin, fibrinogen, plasminogen, prothrombin, thrombospondin and vitronectin. It recognizes the sequence R-G-D in a wide array of ligands. It recognizes the sequence H-H-L-G-G-G-A-K-Q-A-G-D-V in fibrinogen gamma chain. Following activation integrin alpha-IIb/beta-3 brings about platelet/platelet interaction through binding of soluble fibrinogen. This step leads to rapid platelet aggregation which physically plugs ruptured endothelial cell surface.

Description:
Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients with an inherited form of the disease carry mutations in the presenilin proteins (PSEN1; PSEN2) or the amyloid precursor protein (APP). These disease-linked mutations result in increased production of the longer form of amyloid-beta (main component of amyloid deposits found in AD brains). Presenilins are postulated to regulate APP processing through their effects on gamma-secretase, an enzyme that cleaves APP. Also, it is thought that the presenilins are involved in the cleavage of the Notch receptor, such that they either directly regulate gamma-secretase activity or themselves are protease enzymes. Two alternative transcripts of PSEN2 have been identified.

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene is a transforming protein that is related to Rho-specific exchange factors and yeast cell cycle regulators. The expression of this gene is elevated with the onset of DNA synthesis and remains elevated during G2 and M phases. In situ hybridization analysis showed that expression is at a high level in cells undergoing mitosis in regenerating liver. Thus, this protein is expressed in a cell cycle-dependent manner during liver regeneration, and is thought to have an important role in the regulation of cytokinesis. [provided by RefSeq].

Description:
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Rab family, members of which are small molecular weight guanosine triphosphatases (GTPases) that contain highly conserved domains involved in GTP binding and hydrolysis. The Rabs are membrane-bound proteins, involved in vesicular fusion and trafficking. This protein is a resident of pre-Golgi intermediates, and is required for protein transport from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to the Golgi complex. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Description:
CHMP1B belongs to the chromatin-modifying protein/charged multivesicular body protein (CHMP) family. These proteins are components of ESCRT-III (endosomal sorting complex required for transport III), a complex involved in degradation of surface receptor proteins and formation of endocytic multivesicular bodies (MVBs). Some CHMPs have both nuclear and cytoplasmic/vesicular distributions, and one such CHMP, CHMP1A (MIM 164010), is required for both MVB formation and regulation of cell cycle progression

Classical swine fever(CSF) is a kind of acute and intense contagious disease in swine, it material damages swine industry. CSF could cause swine appearing disseminated hemorrhage in systemic organ and tissue, degeneration and necrosis in small vascular and capillary endothelial cells. Classical swine fever virus (CSFV) belongs to genera Pestivirus, family Flaviviridae, it’s genome total length is 12.3Kb,including a big ORF, encoding 11 structural and nonstructural proteins.

Description:
May play a role in postsynaptic function. The C-terminal gamma-secretase processed fragment, ALID1, activates transcription activation through APBB1 (Fe65) binding (By similarity). Couples to JIP signal transduction through C-terminal binding. May interact with cellular G-protein signaling pathways. Can regulate neurite outgrowth through binding to components of the extracellular matrix such as heparin and collagen I.The gamma-CTF peptide, C30, is a potent enhancer of neuronal apoptosis.

Description:
PCGF1 is a component of the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein BCOR complex, a complex required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of some genes, such as BCL6 and the cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, CDKN1A. It represses CDKN1A expression by binding to its promoter, and this repression is dependent on the retinoic acid response element (RARE element). PCGF1 als promotes cell cycle progression and also enhances cell proliferation, thus it may have a positive role in tumor cell growth.

Description:
ABIN-3 is a member of the A20-binding inhibitor of NF-kappaB activation (ABIN) protein family. Similar to the previously characterized human ABINs (ABIN-1 and ABIN-2), ABIN-3 can bind to A20 and inhibit NF-kappaB activation. In contrast, mouse ABIN-3 is incapable of inhibiting NF-kappaB activation by proinflammatory stimuli because the protein lacks a complete ABIN homology domain, which is required for the funcitonal activity of human ABIN-3.
