Supplier:  Enzo Life Sciences
Description:   Produced in <i>E. coli</i>. Contains 115 amino acids.

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   This gene is a member of the MAGEA gene family. The members of this family encode proteins with 50 to 80% sequence identity to each other. The promoters and first exons of the MAGEA genes show considerable variability, suggesting that the existence of this gene family enables the same function to be expressed under different transcriptional controls. The MAGEA genes are clustered at chromosomal location Xq28. They have been implicated in some hereditary disorders, such as dyskeratosis congenita. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the downstream melanoma antigen family A, 5 (MAGEA5) gene.[provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011].
Supplier:  Biotium
Description:   This antibody recognizes a dimer of two proteins of 70 kDa and ~80 kDa, identified as two subunits of Ku. This MAb This antibody recognizes a conformational epitope of p70/p80 dimer, which is destroyed during Western blotting. The p70/p80 dimer is important for function of a 460 kDa DNA-dependent protein kinase. Ku protein plays a role in cell signaling, proliferation, DNA repair, replication, transcriptional activation, and apoptosis.

CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®568 is a red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 562/583 nm) with superior brightness and photostability. It also is compatible with super-resolution imaging by STORM and TIRF.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   Cluster of Differentiation 80, also called B7-1, is a member of cell surface immunoglobulin superfamily which plays key, yet distinct roles in the activation of T cells. It is the ligand for two different proteins on the T cell surface: CD28 and CTLA-4. Studies have shown that CTLA-4 binds mostly to CD80. The structure presents two extracellular domains: a membrane distal variable-like domain (IgV) and a membrane proximal Ig constant-like domain (IgC) along with an intracellular domain. Both IgV and IgC consist of anti-parallel beta sandwiches joined by a short linker region. CD80 is mostly expressed on the surface of antigen-presenting cells including activated B cells, macrophages and dendritic cells.

Description:   Clusterin shares homology with the small heat shock protein family of molecular chaperones. The mature secreted form of the protein is a glycosylated, 80-kDa disulfide-linked heterodimer of alpha and beta subunits (produced by internal cleavage). Clusterin is expressed in virtually all tissues and found in all human fluids. It is involved in numerous physiological processes important for carcinogenesis and tumor growth, including apoptotic cell death, cell cycle regulation, DNA repair, cell adhesion, tissue remodeling, lipid transportation, membrane recycling, and immune system regulation. Clusterin also exists as a nuclear protein. The secreted form of Clusterin has extracellular chaperone and anti-apoptotic activities while the nuclear form acts as a proapoptotic factor.

Description:   The GL-1 monoclonal antibody reacts specifically with the mouse B7-2 (also known as CD86), a costimulatory molecule expressed by B and T lymphocytes, macrophages (thioglycollate-induced from peritoneum), astrocytes and dendritic cells. The memory CD4+ T lymphocytes express CD86 (as mRNA and protein). CD86, and the B7-1 (CD 80) molecule, are ligands for CD152 and CD28, and influence the costimulatory interactions between lymphocytes B and T. B7-2 is also involved in the mouse natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity. The GL-1 antibody blocks the mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) and inhibits the T-cells stimulation by antigen-presenting cells. Mixtures of anti-B7-1 antibody and GL-1 were reported to inhibit the interaction between CD125 and its ligand with the in vivo priming of cytotoxic T lymphocytes.

Description:   This antibody recognizes a protein of 150 kDa, which is identified as the high molecular weight variant of Caldesmon. Two closely related variants of human caldesmon have been identified which are different in their electrophoretic mobility and cellular distribution. The h-caldesmon variant (120-150 kDa) is predominantly expressed in smooth muscle whereas l-caldesmon (70-80 kDa) is found in non- muscle tissue and cells. Neither of the two variants has been detected in skeletal muscle. This MAb This antibody recognizes only the 150 kDa variant (h-caldesmon) in Western blots of human aortic media extracts and is unreactive with fibroblast extracts from cultivated human foreskin. Caldesmon is a developmentally regulated protein involved in smooth muscle and non-muscle contraction.
Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein belongs to the L15E family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. This gene shares sequence similarity with the yeast ribosomal protein YL10 gene. Although this gene has been referred to as RPL10, its official symbol is RPL15. This gene has been shown to be overexpressed in some esophageal tumors compared to normal matched tissues. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome.

Supplier:  Biotium
Description:   This MAb recognizes TGF beta 1, 2 and 3. Three TGF betas have been identified in mammals. TGF beta 1, TGF beta 2 and TGF beta 3 are each synthesized as precursor proteins that are very similar in that each is cleaved to yield a 112 amino acid polypeptide that remains associated with the latent portion of the molecules. Biologically active TGF beta requires dimerization of the monomers (usually homodimers) and release of the latent peptide portion. Overall, the mature region of the TGF beta 3 protein has approximately 80% identity to the mature region of both TGF beta 1 and TGF beta 2. However, the NH2 terminals or precursor regions of their molecules share only 27% sequence identity. TGF betas inhibit the growth of epithelial cells and stimulate the growth of mesenchymal cells.

Description:   Mimitin Antibody: Mimitin, a small mitochondrial protein, whose transcription is directly stimulated by c-Myc, is highly expressed in 80% of esophageal squamous cell carcinomas (ESCC). Suppression of Mimitin expression by RNA interference had no effect in cancerous cell lines such as human cervical carcinoma or hepatocarcinoma cell lines, but caused a decrease in cell proliferation in human glioblastoma, embryonic lung fibroblastic cells, and ESCC, suggesting Mimitin may play a special role in these types of cells. Mimitin expression is also regulated by MAPK kinases and IL-1, but not through the NF-kappa B-related pathway. It will interact with the microtubular protein MAP1S and can affect the activities of caspase-3 and -7 in cells stimulated to develop apoptosis. Other experiments suggest that Mimitin also acts as a molecular chaperone for the assembly of the mitochondrial complex I.

Description:   The Hit8a monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD8a molecule, a 32 kDa cell surface receptor expressed either as a heterodimer (CD8 α/β) or as a homodimer (CD8 α/α) on the majority of thymocytes, a subpopulation of mature T cells, and natural killer cells. CD8 interacts with the major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC class I) molecules on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. The Hit8a antibody reacts with 13-48% of peripheral lymphocytes, 80% of thymocytes, and a subset of natural killer cells. HIT8a, RPA-T8, and OKT8 antibodies do not compete with each other for binding to peripheral leukocytes, meaning that that they do not recognize the same epitope or block each other by steric hindrance.
