Description:
Defects in G6PD are the cause of chronic non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia (CNSHA) . Deficiency of G6PD is associated with hemolytic anemia in two different situations. First, in areas in which malaria has been endemic, G6PD-deficiency alleles have reached high frequencies (1% to 50%) and deficient individuals, though essentially asymptomatic in the steady state, have a high risk of acute hemolytic attacks. Secondly, sporadic cases of G6PD deficiency occur at a very low frequencies, and they usually present a more severe phenotype. Several types of CNSHA are recognized. Class-I variants are associated with severe NSHA; class-II have an activity <10% of normal; class-III have an activity of 10% to 60% of normal; class-IV have near normal activity.

Description:
Dtk, also called Tyro3, belongs to the TAM receptor family of receptor protein tyrosine kinases (RPTKs) composed of three receptors Tyro3, Axl, and Mer. These receptors share a characteristic molecular structure of two immunoglobulin-like and two fibronectin type III repeats and have been best characterized for their roles in immune regulation, fertility, thrombosis and phagocytosis. Gas6 and protein S have been identified as ligands for these receptors. Gas6 binding induces tyrosine phosphorylation and downstream signaling pathways that can lead to cell proliferation, migration, or the prevention of apoptosis. Tyro3 and Axl play important regulatory roles in a variety of tissues, including the central nervous, reproductive, immune, and vascular systems. Tyro3 is widely expressed during embryonic development and preferentially expressed during neurogenesis in the central nervous system.

Description:
Human Chemokine (C-X-C motif) Ligand 7 (CXCL7), also known as neutrophil activating peptide 2 (NAP-2), is a member of the CXC chemokines containing an ELR domain (Glu-Leu-Arg tripeptide motif). Similar to other ELR domain containing CXC chemokines, such as IL-8 and the GRO proteins, CXCL7 binds CXCR2, chemoattracts and activates neutrophils. CXCL7, Connective Tissue Activating Protein III (CTAPIII) and beta thrombogulin ( beta TG), are proteolytically processed carboxylterminal fragments of platelet basic protein (PBP) which is found in the alphagranules of human platelets. Although CTAPIII, beta TG, and PBP represent amino-terminal extended variants of NAP2 and possess the same CXC chemokine domains, these proteins do not exhibit CXCL7/NAP2 activity. CXCL7 induces cell migration through the G-protein-linked receptor CXCR-2.

Description:
TREX1 Antibody: Trex1 is the major human 3' to 5' exonuclease which is required for checkpoint signaling after DNA damage. It is ubiquitously expressed, binds to single stranded DNA coated with replication protein A that accumulates at sites of DNA damage and recruits the ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3 related protein (ATR), a checkpoint kinase, to sites of DNA damage and replication stress. Trex1 is required for ATR expression. This gene uses two different open reading frames. The upstream ORF encodes proteins which interact with ATR and localize to intranuclear foci induced by DNA damage and are essential components of the DNA damage checkpoint. The downstream ORF encodes proteins with 3' to 5' exonuclease activity and may be a subunit of human DNA polymerase III. Mutations in this gene result in Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome, chilblain lupus, and Cree encephalitis.

Description:
The cystatin superfamily encompasses proteins that contain multiple cystatin-like sequences. Some of the members are active cysteine protease inhibitors, while others have lost or perhaps never acquired this inhibitory activity. There are three inhibitory families in the superfamily, including the type 1 cystatins(stefins), type 2 cystatins and the kininogens. The type 2 cystatin proteins are a class of cysteine proteinase inhibitors found in a variety of human fluids and secretions. The cystatin locus on chromosome 20 contains the majority of the type 2 cystatin genes and pseudogenes. This gene is located in the cystatin locus and encodes a type 2 salivary cysteine peptidase inhibitor. The protein is an S-type cystatin, based on its high level of expression in saliva, tears and seminal plasma. The specific role in these fluids is unclear but antibacterial and antiviral activity is present, consistent with a protective function. [provided by RefSeq, Jul2008].

Description:
This gene belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein-tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors have been implicated in mediating developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. Receptors in the EPH subfamily typically have a single kinase domain and an extracellular region containing a Cys-rich domain and 2 fibronectin type III repeats. The ephrin receptors are divided into 2 groups based on the similarity of their extracellular domain sequences and their affinities for binding ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands. This gene is expressed in some human cancer cell lines and has been implicated in carcinogenesis.

Description:
The pCMV-N-OLLAS vector provides a convenient vector to express recombinant proteins under control of the CMV promoter with an N-terminal OLLAS tag. Using the N-OLLAS vector the protein will be expressed in the cytoplasm. We recommend inserting your protein of interest into the vector in frame using the Hind III and Not I restriction sites shown above. Bacterial selection can be performed using Kanamycin, while Neomycin resistance can be used for screening mammalian transfectants. The OLLAS tag has been shown to be detectable at ~100-fold lower levels that similar commercially available tags using the OLLA-2 monoclonal antibody. The OLLAS tag has also been demonstrated to provide superior functionality whether used as an N-terminal, C-terminal, or internal tag on recombinant and fusion proteins without interfering with the biological activity of the tagged protein.

Description:
BAT1 is a member of the DEAD protein family of ATP-dependent RNA helicases. Members of this family are involved in a number of cellular functions including initiation of translation, RNA splicing, and ribosome assembly. A cluster of genes, BAT1-BAT5, has been localized in the vicinity of the genes for TNF alpha and TNF beta. These genes are all within the human major histocompatibility complex class III region. This protein is a negative regulator of inflammation. It is also thought to be a translation initiation factor. This gene is a strong candidate gene for rheumatoid arthritis. There are multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants known for this gene but only two have been fully described. Both of these variants encode the same isoform. This gene has been found to have multiple polyadenylation sites.

CD105, also known as endoglin, is a disulfide-linked type II transmembrane homodimer that is predominantly expressed on vascular endothelial cells. It is also found on pre-erythroblasts, macrophages, and lymphoid and myeloid leukemic cells. Both mouse and human CD105 exhibit >70% sequence homology in their cytoplasmic domains with type III transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) receptor. CD105 has been shown to be one of several receptors for the various isoforms of TGFβ which in turn is one of a family of proteins involved in regulation of cell differentiation, migration of cells, and control of the immune response.
