Description:   Sterile Plasma in Anticoagulant
Catalog Number: (10101-242)

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   SCN5A is an integral membrane protein and tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel subunit. The protein is found primarily in cardiac muscle and is responsible for the initial upstroke of the action potential in an electrocardiogram. The protein encoded by this gene is an integral membrane protein and tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel subunit. The encoded protein is found primarily in cardiac muscle and is responsible for the initial upstroke of the action potential in an electrocardiogram. Defects in this gene are a cause of long QT syndrome type 3 (LQT3), an autosomal dominant cardiac disease. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding separate isoforms which differ by a single amino acid. Mutation nomenclature has been assigned with respect to the longer isoform.

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   NHE-3 are integral membrane proteins that are expressed in most mammalian tissues, where they regulate intracellular pH and cell volume. NHEs mediate the transport of hydrogen (H+) ions out of cells in exchange for extracellular sodium (Na+) ions. While NHE-1 is ubiquitously expressed, the NHE isoforms 2-8 have distinct tissue- and cell type-dependent expression and inhibitory characteristics. NHE-3 localizes to the apical membrane of renal proximal tubules where it is responsible for most of the sodium transport and fluid reabsorption. NHE-3 translocates to internal pools where it mediates natriuresis when blood pressure increases abruptly. NHE-3 is also expressed in the stomach and functions to protect the mucosa by secreting protons that diffuse into the mucous cells.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   SCLT1 acts as a linker protein between the voltage-gated sodium channel Na(v)1.8 (SCN10A; MIM 604427) and clathrin (see CLTC, MIM 118955) (Liu et al., 2005 [PubMed 15797711]).[supplied by OMIM].

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Voltage-gated sodium channels are transmembrane glycoprotein complexes composed of a large alpha subunit with 24 transmembrane domains and one or more regulatory beta subunits. They are responsible for the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons and muscle. This gene encodes one member of the sodium channel alpha subunit gene family, and is found in a cluster of five alpha subunit genes on chromosome 2. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].
