Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   MSY2 and YB-2 (MSY3,4) belong to the Y-box family of multifunctional proteins that regulate both transcription and translation (1–3). Y-box proteins interact with a wide variety of nucleic acid structures to act as transcription factors and mRNA masking proteins (1). The modular structure of Y-box proteins includes a highly conserved N-terminal cold-shock domain (CSD, equivalent to the bacterial cold-shock proteins) and four basic C-terminal domains containing arginine clusters and aromatic residues (4). MSY2 is expressed in testis and ovary where it may repress translation of parental mRNA (5,6). The gene encoding human MSY2 maps to chromosome 17p11.2-13.1 (5). YB-2 (MSY3,4 in mouse) is also known as DNA binding protein A and is highly expressed in the testis, heart and muscle (7,8). MSY2 and YB-2 bind to the consensus sequence 5'-UCCAUCA-3' contained in the Y-box element (9).

Description:   The Hsp70 family of heat shock protiens contains multiple homologs ranging in size from 66-78 kDa, and are the eukaryotic equivalents of the bacterial DnaK. The most studied Hsp70 members include the cytosolic stress-induced Hsp70 (Hsp72), the constitutive cytosolic Hsc70 (Hsp73), and the ER-localized BiP (Grp78). Hsp70 family members contain highly conserved N-terminal ATP-ase and C-terminal protein binding domains. Binding of peptide to Hsp70 is assisted by Hsp40, and stimulates the inherent ATPase activity of Hsp70, facilitating ATP hydrolysis and enhanced peptide binding. Hsp70 nucleotide exchange and substrate binding coordinates the folding of newly synthesized proteins, the re-folding of misfolded or denatured proteins, coordinates trafficking of proteins across cellular membranes, inhibits protein aggregation, and targets the degradation of proteins via the proteasomal pathway.

Description:   CD135 is a tyrosine kinase receptor expressed on normal cells including CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells, myelomonocytic progenitors, primitive B cell progenitors, and thymocytes. CD135 is also expressed on malignant hematopoietic cells including AML, ALL and CML BC. CD135, also known as FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3, FLT3, STK1, and Flk2, is a growth factor receptor that binds the FLT3 ligand to promote the growth and differentiation of primitive hematopoietic cells. The intracytoplasmic domain of CD135 is modified by phosphorylation and has been shown to interact with Grb2, SOCS1, VAV1, and Shc. In humans, expression of Flt3 is restricted to subsets of CD34 positive as well as CD34 negative normal bone marrow cells. In these cells, the level of expression of Flt3 is rather low. Most of the CD34 bright Flt3+ cells co-express CD117 at high levels. They may represent early cycling, but not quiescent stem cells. Flt3+ cells in the CD34lo and CD34- populations do not co-express CD117 molecule and may represent B lymphoid precursors.

Description:   Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic complex produced by fermentation of Micromonospora purpurea or M. echinospora. It is a mixture of 3 major components designated as C1 (C21H43N5O7), C1a (C19H39N5O), and C2 (C20H41N5O7). Gentamicin is used as the sulfate salt. Each component consists of five basic nitrogens and requires five equivalents of sulfuric acid per mole of gentamicin base. Gentamicin sulfate is a broad spectrum antibiotic. It inhibits the growth of a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms, including strains resistant to tetracycline, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, and colistin, particularly strains of Pseudomonas, Proteus, Staphylococcus, and Streptococcus. It is effective against mycoplasma as well.

Description:   Hexanes, Reagent, ACS, is a mixture of hexane isomers plus methylcyclopentane and is a colorless liquid. It is a used as non-polar solvent since it is low cost, largely unreactive, and relatively safe nature and can be found in specialized glue, as a degreasing agent and to extract cooking oil from seeds. It is used in the laboratory to remove or extract oil and grease contaminant from soil and water sample for analysis. Because it cannot easily be deprotonated it is often used for reactions that involve very strong bases. As an ACS grade Reagent, Hexanes manufactured hexanes is used as the quality standard against which other substances are graded and has met the toughest regulatory standards for quality and pureness

Description:   The initiation of DNA replication is a multi-step process that depends on the formation of pre-replication complexes, which trigger initiation (1). Among the proteins required for establishing these complexes are the origin recognition complex (ORC) proteins (1). ORC proteins bind specifically to origins of replication where they serve as scaffold for the assembly of additional initiation factors (1). Human ORC subunits 1-6 are expressed in the nucleus of proliferating cells and tissues, such as the testis (2). ORC1 and ORC2 are both expressed at equivalent concentrations throughout the cell cycle; however, only ORC2 remains stably bound to chromatin (3,4). ORC4 and ORC6 are also expressed constantly throughout the cell cycle (5,6). ORC2, ORC3, ORC4 and ORC5 form a core complex upon which ORC6 and ORC1 assemble (7,8). The formation of this core complex suggests that ORC proteins play a crucial role in the G1-S transition in mammalian cells (8).

Description:   SCO2 Antibody: Synthesis of cytochrome c oxidase 2 was initially identified in yeast as one of two cytochrome c oxidase (COX) assembly proteins that enable the assembly of cytochrome c holoenzyme, a complex that catalyzes the transfer of reducing equivalents from cytochrome c to molecular oxygen and pumps protons across the inner mitochondrial membrane. Like their yeast homologs, the function of both SCO2 and SCO1 are dependent on copper ion binding. Recent studies suggest that SCO2 expression is regulated by p53, so that a decrease in p53 expression, such as in numerous tumors and cells lines, the drop in SCO2 expression leads to a shift from normal aerobic respiration towards the production of glycolytic ATP. Defects in the SCO2 protein are also associated with fatal infantile cardioencephalomyopathy and COX deficiency.
