Supplier:  Rockland Immunochemical
Description:   The Gap junction beta-2 protein (GJB2), also known as Connexin 26, is member of the gap junction protein family which form structures that were shown to consist of cell-to-cell channels that facilitate the transfer of ions and small molecules between cells (1). Mutations in the GJB2 gene are thought to be responsible for as much as 35-45% of congenital sensorineural hearing loss in some populations (2). Other mutations in this gene have also been linked to a wide array of skin diseases (3).

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   GTPases from the MMR1/HSR1 GTP-binding protein subfamily are circularly rearranged G-motifs that play a critical role in maintaining normal cell growth. Deletion of these genes results in severe growth defects with a marked reduction in mature rRNA species and a concomitant accumulation of the 35S pre-rRNA transcript. Deletion also causes the ribosomal protein Rpl25a to fail exportation from the nucleolus. Deletion of any of the G-domain motifs will result in a null phenotype and nuclear/nucleolar localization that lacks the nucleolar export of preribosomes and is accompanied by a distortion of the nucleolar structure. GNL3L (guanine nucleotide binding protein-like 3 (nucleolar)-like) is a 582 amino acid nuclear protein that belongs to the MMR1/HSR1 GTP-binding protein family. Containing one G (guanine nucleotide-binding) domain, GNL3L is required for normal processing of ribosomal pre-rRNA and for cell proliferation.

Description:   MettL7B belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily. It is a probable methyltransferase. Methyltransferase is a type of transferase enzyme which transfers a methyl group from a donor to an acceptor. Often methylation occurs on nucleic bases in DNA or amino acids in protein structures. DNA methylation is often utilized to silence and regulate genes without changing the original DNA sequence. DNA methylation may be necessary for normal growth from embryonic stages in mammals. When mutant embryonic stem cells lacking the murine DNA methyltransferase gene were introduced to a germline of mice they caused a recessive lethal phenotype. Methylation may also be linked to cancer development as methylation of tumor suppressor genes promotes tumorgenesis and metastasis.

Supplier:  Enzo Life Sciences
Description:   Cell permeable, selective inhibitor of PI 3-Kδ.
Supplier:  Adipogen
Description:   Roscovitine-related purine with no activity on CDKs (used as control for roscovitine). Selectively and potently increases production of extracellular Abeta42 and decreases production of extracellular Abeta38 in cultured cells. Extracellular Abeta40 levels remain stable. Intracellular levels of these amyloids appear to remain stable. Alzheimer's Disease (AD) accelerator that interacts with VDAC1, prohibitin and mitofilin, possibly interfering with subcellular compartmentalization and lipid rafts properties, shifting gamma-secretase activity toward Abeta42 generation. Induces a reversible mitochondrial phenotype reminiscent of the one observed in AD brains. Tool to detect inhibitors of Aftin-induced actions (potential anti-AD compounds). Binds pyridoxal kinase.
