Description:
The human Polymeric Immunoglobulin Receptor (pIgR) is a 100 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein. Its precursor is 764 amino acids. It contains an 18 amino acid signal sequence, a 620 amino acid extracellular region, a 23 amino acid transmembrane fragment, and a 103 amino acid cytoplasmic domain. pIgR is synthesized by secretory epithelial cells with five Ig-like domains in extracellular region, and transfer to the basolateral plasma membrane. For IgA and IgM polymers, in addition to alpha-heavy chains and light Ig chains, a short polypeptide named joining chain (J chain) is also contained and required. pIgR can bind larger polymers of IgA (pIgA) and pentameric IgM as a carrier that transports IgA and IgM across epithelium. The receptor-ligand complexes are endocytosed and transcytosed to the apical surface, then proteolytic cleavage of the sixth extracellular domain of pIgR and generate secretory IgA (SIgA), the pIgR fragment is referred to as secretory component (SC). SIgA is a important component of the mucosal immune system. SC is anti-microbial properties and protects SIgA from proteolytic degradation

Description:
Osteocalcin (OC) is a 49 amino acid peptide found exclusively in bone tissue and is highly conserved among species. It is a vitamin K- and D-dependent protein produced by osteoblasts, osteocytes and odontoblasts. It is deposited in extracellular bone matrix and is found in the serum. Serum osteocalcin, hydrolysed in the kidney and liver, is considered a specific marker of osteoblast activity and bone formation rate. It may be involved in regulation of osteoblast function, regulation of bone turnover and/or mineralization.

TRMU is a member of the trmU family. It is a mitochondria-specific tRNA-modifying enzyme that is required for the 2-thio modification of 5-taurinomethyl-2-thiouridine tRNA-Lys on the wobble position of the anticodon. This gene is a member of the trmU family. It encodes a mitochondria-specific tRNA-modifying enzyme that is required for the 2-thio modification of 5-taurinomethyl-2-thiouridine tRNA-Lys on the wobble position of the anticodon.

Description:
Chemokine (C C Motif) Ligand 26 (CCL26) is a novel small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family, which involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. CCL26 is expressed constitutively in thymus, but only transiently in phytohemagglutinin-stimulated peripheral blood mononuclear cells. It specifically binds and induces chemotaxis in T cells and elicits its effects by interacting with the chemokine receptor CCR4. Eotaxin-3/CCL26, along with Eotaxin-1 and Eotaxin-2, selectively activates the CC chemokine receptor 3 (CCR3). The Eotaxin-3-CCR3 interaction may play an important role in allergic diseases such as atopic dermatitis and bronchial asthma. The full-length cDNA for Eotaxin-3 encodes a protein of 94 amino acids with a putative signal peptide of either 23 or 26 amino acid residues. Both the 71 and 68 amino acid residue variants of recombinant Eotaxin-3 demonstrate equal potency in inducing chemotaxis of a human CCR3-transfected cell line. Unlike most other CC chemokines, Eotaxin-3 maps to human chromosome 7q11.2, within 40 kilobases of the Eotaxin-2 loci. Eotaxin-3 and Eotaxin-2 are unique in that they are the only chemokines identified to date that map to chromosome 7.

Description:
Members of the BAGE gene family encode antigens that are recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and are also known as CT (cancer/testis) antigens. Generated by juxtacentromeric shuffling of the MLL3 gene, the ancestral BAGE gene was expanded by acrocentric exchanges and/or juxtacentromeric movements.Generally, BAGE proteins are silent in all normal tissues with the exception of testis. BAGE2 and BAGE 3 (B melanoma antigen 2 and 3, respectively), also known as Cancer/testis antigen 2.2 and 2.3 (respectively), are 109 amino acid secreted proteins that are expressed in 22% of melanomas, lung and bladder carcinomas, and are also expressed in normal testis tissue. Like the genes encoding MAGE proteins, BAGE genes are most likely silenced by DNA methylation and/or chromatin compaction in normal tissues other than testis.
