CUBE BIOTECH
Description:
With diisobutylene-maleic acid (DIBMA), you can directly extract membrane proteins from cells without an intermediate step of detergent solubilization, like with SDS, which would usually interfere with the protein's function. Another advantage of DIBMA as a tool for protein solubilization is the lack of an absorbance maxima at 280 nm. In comparison to SMAs, this would usually interfere with protein quantification, as aromatic amino acids absorb at the same spectrum. PureCube DIBMA is lyophilized from two different buffer solutions (HEPES or TRIS) to ensure a stable pH of 7.5, which is ideal for most protein solubilizations. A good publication to read even more details about DIBMA is Oluwole et al. 2017.

Description:
Modulation of the chromatin structure plays an important role in the regulation of transcription in eukaryotes. The nucleosome, made up of four core histone proteins (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4), is the primary building block of chromatin. The N-terminal tail of core histones undergoes different posttranslational modifications including acetylation, phosphorylation and methylation. These modifications occur in response to cell signal stimuli and have a direct effect on gene expression. In most species, the histone H2B is primarily acetylated at lysines 5, 12, 15 and 20. Histone H3 is primarily acetylated at lysines 9, 14, 18 and 23. Acetylation at lysine 9 appears to have a dominant role in histone deposition and chromatin assembly in some organisms. Phosphorylation at Ser10 of histone H3 is tightly correlated with chromosome condensation during both mitosis and meiosis.

Description:
HNMPA-(AM)3 is a cell-permeable analog of HNMPA. It inhibits insulin receptor tyrosine kinase activity (IC50=100 µM) and insulin-stimulated glucose oxidation in isolated rat adipocytes (IC50=10 µM). It has no effect on PKA (at concs. up to 1 mM) or PKC (at concs. up to 420 µM). Inhibits both serine and tyrosine autophosphorylation by the human insulin receptor. Does not affect protein kinase C (PKC) or cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA).

Glycine is a non-essential amino acid. It is only amino acid with no asymmetric carbon and thus is not chiral. It is the major inhibitory neurotransmitter. It is involved in the biosynthesis of the porphyrin rings of hemes and chlorophylls. Glycine is commonly used in buffer solutions, in electrophoresis and preparative chromatography. A study of the folding of monoclonal antibodies in the presence of glycine and their subsequent purification has been published. The use of glycine in the purification of lipopolysaccharides, lipooligosaccharides, and lipid A has been reported. It is an amino acid for use in cell culture media development applications and existing media formulations. Glycine is commonly used as a component in Tris-glycine and Tris-glycine-SDS running buffers for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, a component of Towbin's transfer buffer for Western blots, a buffer substance in cryoenzymology, in osmotic pressure maintenance in isoelectric focusing of erythrocytes, salting-in effect in protein chemistry, and as a buffer component in the coupled phosphatase-kinase reaction for end labelling of restriction fragments. The growth requirements of various microorganisms is reported in the Handbook of Microbiology. Glycine is a non-chiral amino acid that can be synthesized in the body from the amino acid serine by Serine Hydroxymethyltransferase. Inhibitory neurotransmitter in spinal cord, allosteric regulator of NMDA receptors.
