Description:
The epitope of this MAb maps in the N-terminus of PTH, a hormone produced by the parathyroid gland that regulates the concentration of calcium and phosphorus in extracellular fluid. This hormone elevates blood Ca2 levels by dissolving the salts in bone and preventing their renal excretion. It is produced in the parathyroid gland as an 84 amino acid single chain polypeptide. It can also be secreted as N-terminal truncated fragments or C-terminal fragments after intracellular degradation, as in case of hypercalcemia. Defects in this gene are a cause of familial isolated hypoparathyroidism (FIH); also called autosomal dominant hypoparathyroidism or autosomal dominant hypocalcemia. FIH is characterized by hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia due to inadequate secretion of parathyroid hormone. Symptoms are seizures, tetany and cramps. FIH exist both as autosomal dominant and recessive forms of hypoparathyroidism.
CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®568 is a red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 562/583 nm) with superior brightness and photostability. It also is compatible with super-resolution imaging by STORM and TIRF.

Description:
Angiotensinogen is a precursor of angiotensin II (Ang II), is expressed and synthesized largely in the liver and is cleaved by the enzyme renin in response to lowered blood pressure. It has a key role in mediating vascular constriction and regulating salt and fluid homeostasis. The resulting product, angiotensin I, is then cleaved by angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) to generate the physiologically active enzyme angiotensin II. Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to essential hypertension, and can cause renal tubular dysgenesis, a severe disorder of renal tubular development. Defects in this gene have also been associated with non-familial structural atrial fibrillation, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Description:
Voltage-gated sodium channels are selective ion channels that regulate the permeability of sodium ions in excitable cells. During the propagation of an action potential, sodium channels allow an influx of sodium ions, which rapidly depolarize the cell. The three glycoproteins that comprise the voltage-gated sodium channel proteins include a pore-forming Beta subunit, a noncovalently associated Beta 1 subunit and a disulfide-linked Beta 2 subunit. Na+ CP type VII Alpha (Sodium channel protein type 7 subunit alpha), also known as SCN6A, Sodium channel protein cardiac and skeletal muscle subunit alpha and putative voltage-gated sodium channel subunit alpha Nax, is a 1682 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that belongs to the sodium channel family. Primarily expressed in uterus and heart, Na+ CP type VII Alpha may function in the regulation of salt intake behavior and central sensing of body-fluid sodium levels.
