Description:   Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. RPS29 is a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 40S subunit and a member of the S14P family of ribosomal proteins. The protein, which contains a C2-C2 zinc finger-like domain that can bind to zinc, can enhance the tumor suppressor activity of Ras-related protein 1A (KREV1). It is located in the cytoplasm.Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 40S subunit and a member of the S14P family of ribosomal proteins. The protein, which contains a C2-C2 zinc finger-like domain that can bind to zinc, can enhance the tumor suppressor activity of Ras-related protein 1A (KREV1). It is located in the cytoplasm. Variable expression of this gene in colorectal cancers compared to adjacent normal tissues has been observed, although no correlation between the level of expression and the severity of the disease has been found. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene dispersed through the genome.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   ZNF521 Antibody: The zinc finger protein 521 (ZNF521) is a transcription factor containing an N-terminal transcriptional repressor motif and 30 zinc finger domains. It plays a role in both erythroid cell and osteoblast differentiation during development, inhibiting the activities of early B-cell factor 1 (EBF1) in erythroid cells and Runx2 in osteoblast precursors. ZFP521 binds to both Runx2 and histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3), promotes their association and antagonizes Runx2 transcriptional activity in a HDAC3-dependent manner, thereby regulating osteoblast differentiation, skeletal development, and bone homeostasis.

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is an antioxidant enzyme involved in the defense system against reactive oxygen species (ROS). SOD catalyzes the dismutation reaction of superoxide radical anion (O2-) to hydrogen peroxide, which is then catalyzed to innocuous O2 and H2O by glutathione peroxidase and catalase. Several classes of SOD have been identified. These include intracellular copper, zinc SOD (Cu, Zn-SOD/SOD-1), mitochondrial manganese SOD (Mn-SOD/SOD-2) and extracellular Cu, Zn-SOD (EC-SOD/SOD-3). SOD1 is found in all eukaryotic species as a homodimeric 32 kDa enzyme containing one each of Cu and Zn ion per subunit. The manganese containing 80 kDa tetrameric enzyme SOD2, is located in the mitochondrial matrix in close proximity to a primary endogenous source of superoxide, the mitochondrial respiratory chain. SOD3 is a heparin-binding multimer of disulfide-linked dimers, primarily expressed in human lungs, vessel walls and airways. SOD4 is a copper chaperone for superoxide dismutase (CCS), which specifically delivers Cu to copper/zinc superoxide dismutase. CCS may activate copper/zinc superoxide dismutase through direct insertion of the Cu cofactor.

Description:   Serum albumin, the main protein of plasma, has a good binding capacity for water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs. Its main function is the regulation of the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood. Major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binds about 8% of all plasma zinc.

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   The TRIM motif includes three zinc binding domains, a RING, a B box type 1 and a B box type 2, and a coiled-coil region. The protein localizes to both the cytoplasm and the nucleus. Its function has not been identified.

Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   ZBED5 contains 1 BED type zinc finger and it may be derived from an ancient transposon that has lost its ability to translocate. This gene is unusual in that its coding sequence is mostly derived from Charlie like DNA transposon. There is mRNA and EST evidence to suggest that this gene is transcribed. The encoded protein shares 70% identity with Charlie 1 transposase, however, this gene does not appear to be an active DNA transposon as it is not flanked by terminal inverted repeats. The exact function of this gene product is not known.

Description:   Ubr7 is a 425 amino acid protein that contains one UBR-type zinc finger and one PHD zinc finger. Participating in protein modification events within the N-end rule pathway, Ubr7 functions as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that recognizes and binds proteins that contain destabilizing N-terminal residues, thereby leading to their ubiquitination and subsequent degradation.
Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   The homeobox DNA-binding domain is a 60 amino acid motif that is conserved among many species and functions to bind DNA via a helix-turn-helix structure, thereby playing a role in transcriptional regulation and the control of gene expression. TSHZ3 (teashirt zinc finger homeobox 3), also known as KIAA1474, TSH3 or ZNF537, is a 1,081 amino acid protein that contains one homeobox DNA-binding domain and five C2H2-type zinc fingers. Localized to the nucleus, TSHZ3 functions as a transcriptional regulator that is involved in developmental processes throughout the body. The gene encoding TSHZ3 maps to human chromosome 19, which consists of over 63 million bases, houses approximately 1,400 genes and is recognized for having the greatest gene density of the human chromosomes.
Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   ZA20D3 is a zinc-finger protein located on chromosome 15. It is associated with PRK1.
Supplier:  Bioss
Description:   ZNF672 is a 452 amino acid nuclear protein that may be involved in transcriptional regulation. Belonging to the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, ZNF672 contains 14 C2H2-type zinc fingers. ZNF672 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, and is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 1q44. Human chromosome 1 spans 260 million base pairs, contains over 3,000 genes, comprises nearly 8% of the human genome, and houses a large number of disease-associated genes, including those that are involved in familial adenomatous polyposis, Stickler syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease, schizophrenia and Usher syndrome.
