Description:
Matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9) is also known as 92 kDa type IV collagenase, 92 kDa gelatinase or gelatinase B (GELB), CLG4B, is secreted from neutrophils, macrophages, and a number of transformed cells, and is the most complex family member in terms of domain structure and regulation of its activity. . Structurally, MMP9 maybe be divided into five distinct domains: a prodomain which is cleaved upon activation, a gelatinbinding domain consisting of three contiguous fibronectin type II units, a catalytic domain containing the zinc binding site, a prolinerich linker region, and a carboxyl terminal hemopexinlike domain. This enzyme degrades various substrates including gelatin, collagen types IV and V, and elastin. MMP9 is involved in a variety of autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis, and be regarded as a potential therapeutic target.

Description:
Early growth response 1 (EGR1) is a member of EGR family which are transcriptional factors that contain three repetitive zinc finger DNA binding domains which bind to EGR response elements (ER) to regulate target gene expression. The expression of EGR family members is induced by growth factors, with EGR1 expression being induced by NGF. Increased EGR1 expression activates transcription of other signaling molecules, including CDK5 and tyrosine hydroxylase, and exerts long term effects on neural cell growth and differentiation. Egr-1 binds to the DNA sequence 5'-CGCCCCCGC-3' (Egr-site), thereby activating transcription of target genes whose products are required for mitogenesis and differentiation.

Description:
TSHZ3 Antibody: The Teashirt zinc finger homeobox (TSHZ) family comprise a family of evolutionarily conserved transcription factors that, in Drosophila, are active in specific body parts for patterning, but whose function in vertebrates is less clear. In mice, the known three TSHZ proteins are expressed in distinct patterns in the developing and adult brain, suggesting that they play a role in the establishment of regional identity and specification of cell types within the brain. Both TSHZ3 and TSHZ1 have been found to interact with FE65, an adapter protein that binds to the amyloid protein precursor (APP) in neurons. Together with SET, a component of the inhibitor of acetyl transferase, and histone deacetylases, these proteins formed a gene-silencing complex whose target includes caspase-4. Recent experiments have also suggested this family of proteins may be involved in carcinogenesis.

Description:
Protein Kinase C Epsilon type is a member of the serine- and threonine-specific protein kinase family that can be activated by calcium and the second messenger diacylglycerol. Protein Kinase C Epsilon contains these domains: one AGC-kinase C-terminal domain, one C2 domain, one protein kinase domain and two phorbol-ester/DAG-type zinc fingers. Protein Kinase C Epsilon phosphorylate a variety of protein targets and has been identified to participate in diverse cellular signaling pathways. It has many different cellular functions, such as neuron channel activation, apoptosis, cardioprotection from ischemia, heat shock response, as well as insulin exocytosis. Protein Kinase C Epsilon also serves as the receptor for phorbol esters, a class of tumor promoters.

Description:
Responsible for the deacetylation of lysine residues on the N-terminal part of the core histones (H2A, H2B, H3 and H4), and some other non-histone substrates. Histone deacetylation gives a tag for epigenetic repression and plays an important role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression and developmental events. Histone deacetylases act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes. Participates in the BCL6 transcriptional repressor activity by deacetylating the H3 'Lys-27' (H3K27) on enhancer elements, antagonizing EP300 acetyltransferase activity and repressing proximal gene expression. Probably participates in the regulation of transcription through its binding to the zinc-finger transcription factor YY1; increases YY1 repression activity. Required to repress transcription of the POU1F1 transcription factor. Acts as a molecular chaperone for shuttling phosphorylated NR2C1 to PML bodies for sumoylation.
