Description:   YAF2 interacts with YY1, a zinc finger protein involved in negative regulation of muscle-restricted genes. YAF2 contains a single N-terminal C2-X10-C2 zinc finger, and in contrast to YY1, is up-regulated during myogenic differentiation. It also facilitates proteolytic cleavage of YY1 by the calcium- activated protease, m-calpain, suggesting a mechanism by which this protein antagonizes the negative effect of YY1.The protein encoded by this gene interacts with YY1, a zinc finger protein involved in negative regulation of muscle-restricted genes. This gene product itself contains a single N-terminal C2-X10-C2 zinc finger, and in contrast to YY1, is up-regulated during myogenic differentiation. It also facilitates proteolytic cleavage of YY1 by the calcium- activated protease, m-calpain, suggesting a mechanism by which this protein antagonizes the negative effect of YY1. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene, but the full-length nature of only two have been confirmed to date.

Description:   The RING-type zinc finger motif is present in a number of viral and eukaryotic proteins and is made of a conserved cysteine-rich domain that is able to bind two zinc atoms. Proteins that contain this conserved domain are generally involved in the ubiquitination pathway of protein degradation. RNF146 (RING finger protein 146), also known as Dactylidin, is a 359 amino acid protein that contains one RING-type zinc finger and one WWE domain. Via its RING-type zinc finger, RNF146 may play a role in transcriptional regulation and protein degradation events. Defects in the gene encoding RNF146 are associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and may lead to a higher risk of breast cancer. Two isoforms of RNF146 exist due to alternative splicing events.

Supplier:  Prosci
Description:   ZNF346 (CT) Antibody: ZNF346, also known as JAZ (just another zinc-finger protein), is a nucleolar, zinc finger protein which preferentially binds to double-stranded (ds) RNA or RNA/DNA hybrids with high affinity via C2H2 zinc fingers. ZNF346 contains four CH-type zinc finger motifs that are connected by long (28-38) amino acid linker sequences. ZNF346 is expressed in all tissues tested and localizes to the nucleus, primarily the nucleolus. ZNF346 is exported by exportin-5 but translocates back into nuclei by a facilitated diffusion mechanism. ZNF346 interacts with ILF3 in an RNA-independent manner and may be involved in cell growth and survival.

Description:   The tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins are characterized by a conserved TRIM domain that includes a coiled-coil region, a B-box type zinc finger, one RING finger and three zinc-binding domains. TRIM50 (tripartite motif containing 50), also known as TRIM50A or E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM50, is a 487 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that functions as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Containing one RING-type zinc finger, a B30.2/SPRY domain and a single B box-type zinc finger, TRIM50 belongs to the TRIM/RBCC family and undergoes post-translational auto-ubiquitination. TRIM50 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, designated TRIM50 alpha and TRIM50 beta, and has the ability to form dimers and trimers. The gene encoding TRIM50 maps to human chromosome 7, which houses over 1,000 genes, comprises nearly 5% of the human genome and has been linked to Osteogenesis imperfecta, Pendred syndrome, Lissencephaly, Citrullinemia and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome.

Description:   The tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins are characterized by a conserved TRIM domain that includes a coiled-coil region, a B-box type zinc finger, one RING finger and three zinc-binding domains. Staf-50 (50 kDa-stimulated trans-acting factor), also known as TRIM22 (tripartite motif-containing 22), RNF94 or GPSTAF50, is a 498 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that belongs to the TRIM family and, characteristic of TRIM family members, contains one RING-type zinc finger, one B box-type zinc finger and one SPRY domain. Induced by IFN-Ã¥ and IFN-∫, Staf-50 is strongly expressed in ovary, spleen, thymus and peripheral blood leukocytes where it is thought to mediate the antiviral effects of IFN proteins. Additionally, Staf-50 is present in leukemic cells, suggesting a role in cancer formation and metastasis. Staf-50 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms which are encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 11.
