Description:
Accessory subunit of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I), that is believed not to be involved in catalysis. Complex I functions in the transfer of electrons from NADH to the respiratory chain. The immediate electron acceptor for the enzyme is believed to be ubiquinone.

Description:
CD4 is a 55 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the Ig-SF of cell surface receptors. It is expressed predominantly on the “helper/inducer” subpopulation of mature T lymphocytes and on monocytes and macrophages. Domains 1 and 2 bind to MHC Class II antigens, while domains 3 and 4 may be involved in cis interactions with the CD3/TCR complex. CD4 functions as an accessory molecule in the recognition of foreign antigens in association with MHC class II antigens by T cells.

Description:
LMBR1 is a member of the LMBR1-like membrane protein family. Another member of this protein family has been shown to be a lipocalin transmembrane receptor. A highly conserved, cis-acting regulatory module for the sonic hedgehog gene is located within an intron of LMBR1 gene. Consequently, disruption of this genic region can alter sonic hedgehog expression and affect limb patterning, but it is not known if LMBR1 gene functions directly in limb development. Mutations and chromosomal deletions and rearrangements in this genic region are associated with acheiropody and preaxial polydactyly, which likely result from altered sonic hedgehog expression. This gene encodes a member of the LMBR1-like membrane protein family. Description:
MTA2 modulates the enzymatic activity of the histone deacetylase core complex. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunophilin protein family, which play a role in immunoregulation and basic cellular processes involving protein folding and trafficking. This encoded protein is a cis-trans prolyl isomerase that binds to the immunosuppressants FK506 and rapamycin. This gene is found to be deleted in Williams syndrome.
