Description:
BICD1 was initially identified as the human homolog to Drosophila Bicaudal-D protein that forms part of the cytoskeleton and mediates the correct sorting of mRNAs for oocyte- and axis-determining factors during oogenesis. BICD1 can bind to dynein-dynactin and co-localizes with Rab6A on the trans-Golgi network and cytoplasmic vesicles, suggesting BICD1 regulates COPI-independent Golgi-ER transport. BICD1 will also interact with Rab6B, a Rab6 isoform that is expressed primarily in brain. Live cell imaging showed bi-directional movement of Rab6B structures in SK-N-SH neurites, indicating that BICD1 is involved in the Rab6B regulation of retrograde cargo transport in neuronal cells.

Description:
Lysosome associated membrane proteins (LAMP1), also known as lgp120 or lgpA, is a type 1 integral membrane protein that is transported from trans-Golgi network to endosomes and then lysosomes. Upon cell activation, LAMP1 transfer to the plasma membrane is dependent on a carboxyl-terminal tyrosine based motif (YXXI). Perturbation in the spacing between the tyrosine based motif relative to the membrane abolishes lysosome localization of LAMP1. This mutant protein then cycles between the plasma membrane and the endosome. Cell surface LAMP1 and LAMP2 have been shown to promote adhesion of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to vascular endothelium, therefore they are possibly involved in the adhesion of PBMC to the site of inflammation.

Description:
Acts as a transcriptional regulator. Inhibits myogenesis by sequestrating E proteins, inhibiting trans-activation by MEF2, and inhibiting DNA-binding by MYOD1 through physical interaction. This interaction probably involves the basic domains of both proteins. Also represses expression of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNFA and IL1B. Regulates cranial suture patterning and fusion. Activates transcription as a heterodimer with E proteins. Regulates gene expression differentially, depending on dimer composition. Homodimers induce expression of FGFR2 and POSTN while heterodimers repress FGFR2 and POSTN expression and induce THBS1 expression. Heterodimerization is also required for osteoblast differentiation. Represses the activity of the circadian transcriptional activator: NPAS2-ARNTL/BMAL1 heterodimer (By similarity).

Description:
The CD28.2 monoclonal antibody specifically binds with the human 44 kDa homodimeric trans-membrane glycoprotein CD28, expressed on the surface of most mature T lymphocytes, plasma cells, and thymocytes. CD28 is a ligand for B7-1 (CD80) and B7-2 (CD86), a co-stimulator of T lymphocytes, and enhances the interaction between T and B lymphocytes. It has been reported that the T lymphocytes stimulation to produce IL-2 depends on the monoclonal antibody involved, which suggests that the CD28 molecule presents some subregions with distinct functions. The CD28.2 antibody induces Ca2+ influx in Jurkat T lymphocytes. Other studies have shown that CD28 is involved in the signal transduction.

Description:
Acts as component of the MCM2-7 complex (MCM complex) which is the putative replicative helicase essential for 'once per cell cycle' DNA replication initiation and elongation in eukaryotic cells. The active ATPase sites in the MCM2-7 ring are formed through the interaction surfaces of two neighboring subunits such that a critical structure of a conserved arginine finger motif is provided in trans relative to the ATP-binding site of the Walker A box of the adjacent subunit. The six ATPase active sites, however, are likely to contribute differentially to the complex helicase activity. Required for the entry in S phase and for cell division.

Description:
This antibody recognizes a sialoglycoprotein of 39 kDa, identified as glycophorin A (GPA). It is present on red blood cells (RBC) and erythroid precursor cells. It has been shown that glycophorin acts as the receptor for Sandei virus and parvovirus. Glycophorins A (GPA) and B (GPB), which are single, trans-membrane sialoglycoproteins. GPA is the carrier of blood group M and N specificities, while GPB accounts for S and U specificities. GPA and GPB provide the cells with a large mucin like surface and it has been suggested this provides a barrier to cell fusion, so minimizing aggregation between red blood cells in the circulation.

Description:
The human Mel-CAM gene maps to chromosome 11q23 and encodes a trans-membrane glycoprotein, also designated MCAM, MUC18 or CD146, that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and functions as a Ca2+-independent cell adhesion molecule. MUC18 expression is restricted to advanced primary and metastatic melanomas and to cell lines of the neuroectodermal lineage, but not normal melanocytes. MUC18 / CD146 is found on 80% of advanced primary human melanomas and correlates well with development of metastatic disease.
