Description:
Ro autoantigens are of clinical significance because directed against them are found in most patients with primary Sjqgren syndrome, subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SLE), neonatal lupus erythematosus, ANA-negative lupus erythematosus, and systemic lupus erythematosus-like disease secondary to homozygous C2 or C4 complement deficiency (1). Ro/SSA is a ribonucleoprotein that binds to auto in 35 to 50% of patients with SLE and in up to 97% of patients with Sjqgren syndrome (2). The Ro/SSA particle consists of a single immunoreactive protein noncovalently bound with one of four small RNA molecules (2). Most anti-Ro/SSA-positive sera detect not only the main protein, but also a smaller Ro/SSA protein (2). The genes which encode the smaller and larger proteins map to human chromosomes 11p15.5 and 1q31, respectively (3?). La/SSB is an autoimmune RNA-binding protein that plays a role in the transcription of RNA polymerase III was originally defined by its reactivity with auto from patients with Sjé°ƒren syndrome and SLE (6).

Description:
West Nile Virus Envelope Antibody: West Nile Virus (WNV) is a member of the Flaviviridae, a plus-stranded virus family that includes St. Louis encephalitis virus, yellow fever virus, and Dengue virus. WNV was initially isolated in 1937 in the West Nile region of Uganda and has become prevalent in Africa, Asia, and Europe. It has rapidly spread across the United States with cases being observed in every continental state. Virus particles consist of a dense core made up of the core/capsid protein encapsulating the RNA genome surrounded by a membrane envelope embedded with envelope and matrix proteins. While the viral core protein is thought to contribute to the WNV-associated inflammation via apoptosis induced though the caspase-9 pathway, the highly glycosylated envelope protein plays a major role for WNV entry into target cells as this entry can be inhibited by using a recombinant domain III from the envelope glycoprotein. The WNV receptor has recently been identified as alpha v beta 3 integrin.

Description:
Fluor de Lys® Substrate is a highly sensitive and convenient alternative to radiolabeled, acetylated histones or peptide/HPLC methods for the assay of histone deacetylases. The Fluor de Lys® Substrate, which comprises an acetylated lysine side chain, is incubated with a sample containing HDAC activity (nuclear or cellular extract, purified enzyme, bead-bound immunocomplex, etc.). Deacetylation of the substrate sensitizes the substrate so that, in a second step, treatment with the Fluor de Lys® Developer produces a fluorophore. Histone deacetylases from all known classes have been successfully assayed with the Fluor de Lys® Substrate. These include human HDACs 1, 2, 3 and 8 (class I), human HDACs 4 and 9 (class II) and the sirtuins yeast Sir2, human SIRT1 and human SIRT2 (class III; reaction must include the sirtuin substrate NAD+). The substrate is cell-permeable and serves as the basis for the HDAC Cellular Activity Assay Kit (Prod. No. BML-AK503). NOTE: Must be used in conjunction with Fluor de Lys® Developer (Prod. No. BML-KI105). Sufficient for 100-1000 assays of HDACs or sirtuins (50 µl reaction volume, 50-500 µM (substrate).

Description:
This antibody recognizes a protein of 50-65 kDa, identified as CD16 (Workshop IV; Code N39 ) (also known low affinity Fc receptor III for IgG (FcRIII) or Leu 11). CD16 exists as a polypepetide-anchored from (FCRIIIA or CD16A) on human natural killer (NK) cells and monocytes/ macrophages and as a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored form (FcRIIIB or CD16B) on neutrophils. CD16B is polymorphic and the two alleles are termed NA1 and NA2.3 CD16 plays a role in signal transduction, NK cell activation and antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. This MAb has been showed to inhibit the binding of immune complex to NK cells, inhibit cytotoxicity of NK cells, and induce calcium fluxes in NK cells and neutrophils.
CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®640R is a far-red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 642/662 nm) with excellent brightness, and the best photostabiity among spectrally-similar dyes.

Description:
Broad specificity aminopeptidase. Plays a role in the final digestion of peptides generated from hydrolysis of proteins by gastric and pancreatic proteases. May play a critical role in the pathogenesis of cholesterol gallstone disease. May be involved in the metabolism of regulatory peptides of diverse cell types, responsible for the processing of peptide hormones, such as angiotensin III and IV, neuropeptides, and chemokines. Found to cleave antigen peptides bound to major histocompatibility complex class II molecules of presenting cells and to degrade neurotransmitters at synaptic junctions. Is also implicated as a regulator of IL-8 bioavailability in the endometrium, and therefore may contribute to the regulation of angiogenesis. Is used as a marker for acute myeloid leukemia and plays a role in tumor invasion. In case of human coronavirus 229E (HCoV-229E) infection, serves as receptor for HCoV-229E spike glycoprotein. Mediates as well human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infection.

Description:
Apolipoproteins are protein components of plasma lipoproteins (1). The apolipoprotein C gene family encodes four homologous proteins designated apoC-I to -IV, which specifically modulate the metabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins (2). The human apoC-I gene maps to chromosome 19q13.2 and is expressed primarily in the liver where it is activated when monocytes differentiate into macrophages (3,4). The human apoC-II gene maps to chromosome 19q13.2 and encodes a 79 amino acid single chain protein that is a necessary cofactor for the activation of lipoprotein lipase, the enzyme that hydrolyzes triglycerides in plasma and transfers the fatty acids to tissues (5–7). The human apoC-III gene maps to chromosome 11q23 and encodes a protein that may delay catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles by inhibiting lipoprotein lipase and hepatic lipase (8). The human apoC-IV gene maps to chromosome 19q13.2 and encodes a 127 amino acid protein that is primarily expressed in the liver (9,10).
