Description:
Rb is a tumor suppressor gene which functions as a negative regulator of the cell cycle by interacting with transcription factors including E2F 1, PU 1, ATF 2, UBF, Elf 1 and c-Abl. This ability to alter transcription is regulated by phosphorylation catalyzed by the cyclin-dependent protein kinases (cdks). Phosphorylation of serine 612 is catalyzed by cdk 2 complexes such as Cyclin E-cdk 2 and Cyclin A-cdk 2. Rb contains at least 16 consensus sequences for cdk phosphorylation, but the significance of all of these sites is unclear. Phosphorylation of this site as well as serines 780, 807, and 811 disrupts binding to E2F.

Description:
CD3, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, is comprised of five invariable chains ranging from 16-28 kDa and is closely associated with the T cell antigen receptor (TCR). CD3 is expressed on 70-80% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes and on 10-20% of thymocytes. It plays a major role in signaling during antigen recognition, leading to T cell activation. The monoclonal antibody UCHT1 reacts with the 20 kDa ε chain of the CD3/TCR complex.

Description:
Stathmin (STMN1) is a ubiquitous cytosolic phosphoprotein which belongs to the Stathmin family. STMN1 is expressed in many tissues, with the highest expression in the brain, spinal cord, and cerebellum. It can also be expressed in the colon, ovary, placenta, uterus, and trachea. STMN1 participates in the regulation of the microtubule filament structure by destabilizing microtubules. STMN1 promotes the disassembly of microtubules and prevents assembly. STMN1 is involved in the control of the learned and innate fear. STMN1 is an intracellular relay integrating regulatory signals of the cellular environment and as an Oncoprotein in regulation of the cell cycle. Phosphorylation at Ser-16 may be required for axon formation during neurogenesis. Mutation in STMN1 effects cell homeostasis that may lead to tumorigenicity.

PFM2; PR domain containing 5; Official Gene Symbol- PRDM5 Gene ID- 11107(Human) Gene Map Locus- 4q25-q26(Human) PRDM5, a novel member of PR domain protein family, contains a PR-domain at the NH2 terminus followed by 16 zinc finger motifs. It is found to have a role in cell differentiation and tumorigenesis. Reports suggest PRDM5 causes G2/M arrest and apoptosis upon infection of tumor cells and has been found to be silenced in breast, ovarian and lung cancers, suggesting a potential clinical significance.

Description:
FKHR belongs to the forkhead family of transcription factors, which are characterized by a distinct forkhead domain. It may play a role in myogenic growth and differentiation. The mammalian DAF-16-like transcription factors, FKHR, FKHRL1, and AFX, function as key regulators of insulin signaling, cell cycle progression, and apoptosis downstream of phosphoinositide 3-kinase. Gene activation through binding to insulin response sequences has been essential for mediating these functions. D-type Cyclins (in Class III) is required for FKHR mediated inhibition of cell cycle progression and transformation. FKHR gene is mapped to chromosome 13q14
